I work at home but not looking after children. You have to set ground rules. Between this time and this time I am working just as I would be at a job outside the home. You have to set limits or boundaries and stick to them. That is what I do. In your case, if a child is injured, it could be the end for you and a liability claim against you and your home which you have made your place of business. Which is a risky venture it itself. Most businesses have limited liability companies (LLC) to prevent any attachment of any personal property assets when doing business as a business. They can only go after the business entity and not the personal assets. You have a lot to lose for something that can probably wait. I am assuming our children are older ones. Those children you care for are first priority, then the rest during your working hours. Good luck, I know it is hard.
