when I connect my USB to IDE / SATA converter that looks only at the USB controllers, while the drive is unreadable. If anyone knows, whatever it takes to make these drives detected by Windows.

Normally, something like this wouldn't need drivers but I would check to see if there are any for that particular converter. If not, is the drive readable if you plugged it into a normal IDE/SATA? If it can, try to see if you can connect it to another USB slot (hopefully one that is USB 2.0) or try another computer. If it doesn't work then... could be defective. Also, make sure that the drive is powered on. If there is no power to the drive, it simply won't work.

While try to direct connected to IDE all is normal readable. Appliance is not damaged because it was new and I'm using USB 2.0, but when connected only controller was detected. I have checked and installed power and plug IDE / SATA converter to USB, but still it does not work. If it does not require drivers, why not work when connected.

Technically, there are drivers involved (Windows built in drivers). What is the model number of this device? Have you tried another hard drive? Is there a hard drive size limit requirement for the device?

Are you trying to use a SATA DVD-ROM Drive or SATA Harddisk drive on an IDE computer? That is the case with me and I use the device use for converting IDE to SATA. It has two cable connected to computer, once is for Power and another one is connected to USB port. For me, it's function well. Maybe only the Power cable is functioning on you, the USB cable maybe having a loose connection. Just try to unplug and plug it again securely. Just wait for a moment for it to be read. It should be read or else, you may just return in to the seller and ask for replacement. Have a nice day! Happy myLotting!

I'm trying to IDE DVD-ROM, but when I plug out and then plug in my converter....my DVD seemed to read something without sending anything to the USB. I browse all my equipment but there fine, I cannot find where is the cause.Maybe I need to test it on other equipment.
