Proverbs.

Does anyone know any ancient proverbs or stories of knowledge that are used for teching someone? I dont relly know any but Id like to learn and be able o understand the world in a new way.

Here is a few that I like and feel they say alot in few words. Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
One never needs their humor as much as when they argue with a fool.
