It's depend on what the mobile vendor is.Nokia and LG for the example, Nokia S60 like Nokia 6600 still use a VGA, while LG use a 1.3 MP camera. But the result still great for the Nokia, exspecially at the night.

Mega pixel much better because its have higher resolution, which mean have a better picture quality. VGA is so old fashion and have poor picture quality and unbalance white noise. I think this day all cool cellphone already has 5 mega pixel camera and as a result we can have a really good picture.

well, I can only say that in good cameras there is no matter of the pixels- that what is actually the most important are the lenses- plastic or from glass, the better they are the better photos you will have, so if the VGA is with better lenses I guess itwill have better pictures!

Of course 1,3 Megapixel is better than VGA camera. The photo quality is much better for 1,3 Megapixel camera.

That actually has to do with what size of picture you want to print or save onto your computer. VGA is also a digital camera, typically under 1 megapixel. But if you have 240 x 320 wallet size pictures, pictures taken with VGA camera can be just as good as ones that were taken with 1.3 megapixels. Pixels are basically "fillers" or tiny dots that make up the whole picture. As pictures get bigger, of course you need more of those pixels and/or dots to make it look sharp. You'll notice as resolution gets higher, picture will get bigger. VGA typically has 640 dots horizontally & 480 dots vertically. I have 3.2 megapixel camera on my phone. It has 2048 x 1536 pixels. That's pretty good picture to print on 8.5 x 11 size papers. Anything smaller, you can get away with using 2 megapixel camera that looks just as good.

It all depends on the camera lens and image sensor but I must say that the 1.3 megapixel on is better. The quality is more crisp but it may also be a lot more noisy. The pixels or the one with higher resolution is better in most cases. In some cases like the 12MP camera phones compared to a low resolution dslr then it is a very much cases because for sure the dslr's lens and image sensor is bigger and more powerful that is why the image output is stunning.
