Do you have dental insurance? I used to have it on my boys only until money got tight, so I dropped it. It seemed like it was not worth the money. Well last week I sure do wished I had it. My boys were on spring break, and the oldest thought it would be funny when the youngest was drinking a can coke to push the can in his mouth. Guess what, it was not funny, he broke one of his teeth. Had to take him to the dentist and it cost $337.00 to get it fixed. The whole time I was writing the check I kept wishing I had the insurance still. Of course, after the pain went away the little one thinks it is great to have a half of a fake tooth.

Isn't that always the way it happens? I'm on mat. leave and don't have dental right now because money is tight. Wouldn't you know it, I chipped a tooth a month ago. Our dentist cut us a break, but it was still $200 to get it repaired. That's life for you...

Yep, when you have it you never need it. When you don't have it you always need it.

I live in Pennsylvania and we have dental clinics with "sliding scales" so your fee is based on your income. Some dentists also offer payment plans. In the USA, insurance/health reform is a major issue.
