2010 Philippine election is fast-approaching and Filipinos have still 23 days left to decide their bets. There are lots of candidates from all walks of life and as usual there also a long list of celebrities eying for different position. Say, there are celebrities that are capable and has done pretty good in their job but some are just after money and power. I have never voted for a celebrity politician and I would never vote for a celebrity politician. Here's my thought, traditional politician can hardly make our country better with all their experiences, public service knowledge except those few who really done pretty good job, so I expect less from a celebrity politician. How about you guys, have you ever voted for a celebrity politician?

finally lapid's dream came true - crop picture of shi*nator lapid and obama
ah!! take a good example of Shi*tnator Lito Lapid, six years in the senate and he did nothing, the only thing that catched our attention is when he was interviewed my media about his purpose going to whitehouse "just to have picture with Obama"..what a stupid Shi*tnator...A DISGRACE public official..so if you ask me if i'll vote celebrity politician? for local like councilor, barangay capt. maybe i can consider of voting them but for executive and national position...uuumm!! i'll think 100 times...hahaha!!

That was hilarious, yeah maybe he has this "American dream" for sure. :)Taking pictures with Obama, what the hell he was thinking, that was a business trip. But on the other side, Lito Lapid is smart enough not to talk to Obama. He knows if he does, his ignorance is going to show. Hahaha

its a sad thing that they are using their popularity to win a seat in politics. one actress is running for a councilor here in our place. she is just new here and done nothing yet.

Hello Oxio, To be honest, I don't want to vote for Celebrities unless they have a track record or they will start with being councilor first. It's better if you don't vote for them because i haven't heard most of them on how to answer they're problems in they're issues.

Most of the celebrity politician don't have have background in politics, they don't know what they're getting into..Try to look at this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0Gpi_l4PxQ&feature=player_embededded. This is Ara Mina, she was guested because she is planning to run as councilor in Quezon City. But try to listen to her answers, she is not aware of the country's issues.

Yes I did vote for a celebrity politician before, like Bong Revilla and Kiko Pangilinan because of Sharon not because they are celebrity but because don't know other candidates, so I prefer them.

Hi, oxio.. I've been a voter since I was 18 years old and so far, thinking years back, I haven't voted any celebrities for any national/local position. I don't like them using their popularity as actors/actresses to be elected as a public official and most who have been elected have done nothing while in the position (dekorasyon o papogi lang sila). Sometimes they get into their heads that since they are popular, the masses are going to vote to them. I know some have the real desire to serve the country, but the question is, are they qualified to hold such positions, especially the national positions? I really don't think so...

I admired celebrity in front of the camera disregard their attitudes and behavior, but in politics i don't think so that they will be a very good public servant.

No, I haven't voted for a celebrity politician before. It must be really neat to be able to go and vote for a celebrity. There are a lot of celebrity politicians here in North America. I think people vote for them because they feel they know them better than the other people they are running against.

Never did try to vote for a politician celebrity - it not that I am belittling their sincerity or their previous record as politicians - it just that I am not comfortable.

Hi oxio! I am 32 years old now, and when i was reading your discussion, i began to think whether i voted for some of celebrity politician in the past, and my mind says NO, i never had an experienced voting for them and i will never vote for them in this election, unless that they have a good track record from their previous position or if i saw how good their intentions are, and how sincere they are in serving our beloved country. Truly, we must be aware of what's really going on, we've had enough so let's all learn from the past.

Well usually no, its just that for me they better stay in the industry where they're famous and not mess in politics though im not saying that they dont have the right to be in gov't. position but what for? i mean most of them are already famous and they can help other people even if they're not in the govt. position if they really wanted to.
