Will you share your toothbrush with your partner/love one?

dear cloud, i think the issue here is hygiene and not much on love. well, maybe partly. i will have to share if he is willing to use. you mentioned there is no way to buy a new one. am sure it will be very uneasy on his part to be borrowing and more so going to bed without cleaning his mouth. anyways, we both have kissed each other on the lips so one has transferred something already to the other, right? then .. ??? tell me, would you share? ann

hi there cloud31. For me, I don't think I could share my toothbrush with anyone, not even to a lover or a relative. Or maybe I could let them borrow, but I won't use them anymore. I just can't imagine myself, taking all the germs from their mouth into mine. I think it will be better if it will be them who will be taking the germs from my mouth and not the other way around. But i think either way, it's still feels icky.

cloud31, I would not mind but I can understand preference is an individual thing. So, whether my partner would want to use or not will be left to her. However, I am quite a well prepared individual and as such I always have a spare toothbrush in my travel toiletry kit. I have about 3 new and unused toothbrushes in case of emergencies like this or that my current one is worn out. Last but not least, hotels always have toothbrushes in their toilets for their in-house guests. Just ring for the hotel's housekeeping for it, I am sure that you can get it.

Uumm, no. Then i will rather use my finger or go and find a place to get a new toothbrush. There is no way, i will use it. TATA.

Actually, I have known a lot of couples here in the Philippines share their toothbrush with their spouse and for them, there's nothing wrong about it. Perhaps, I agree with them, much more if they will be in the situations that you have mentioned. But on the other hand, some of the people are very sensitive regarding this matter. Because for them, toothbrush is a very personal belonging and is a part of their personal hygiene. I also didn't see anything wrong about it. Therefore I conclude, that sharing your toothbrush to your partner, whether to your spouse, or to your gf or bf, it is you alone that can decide concerning that matter and needs a very careful decision. Lastly, if you will ask me personally, if I will share my toothbrush with my wife...I WILL SURELY DO.

Cloud Hello! I think it would not be appropriate of hygienic to share each other's tooth brush. I will try to get a new one and if I cannot, I will make do with my index finger.

Hi cloudie! Well for me, I don't have a problem with that. I can share my toothbrush with her and I can also use her toothbrush too. The only question is if she will let me use it or if she will be confident enough to use my toothbrush. Lol! Well since we are already kissing each other, so why not share our toothbrush. When a couple is already doing that with no hesitation, I can say that their relationship is really strong. It shows that they do love each other very much. If my partner does not have gum disease, I will let him use my tooth brush. I will scald it off with hot water before and after they use it. I am not trying to be funny. I just want the both us to be sanitized the right way. That reminds me. I will make sure that I bring an extra toothbrush so that my husband will be able to use it.

never, cloud. a toothbrush is a personal item. in the case at hand, you can probably try to improvise for the night and buy a proper toothbrush in the morning. what is mean is, just to pass the night away without breaching the rule on hygiene. but, i must admit, there were instance in the past when i did share my toothbrush with my girlfriend and vice versa... you know, it's doesn't do well to kiss and... when one hasn't brushed his or her teeth, especially after eating a lot of kimchi...

Hi cloud, In the situation, i will advise her to clean teeth by her finger. Its not hygienic to use other person'e brush. There is no harm if she does not brush for one night. Some how i am not able to digest idea of sharing brush. Happy mylotting, keep smiling cloud.

i've never been experienced travelling with my bf.but i've experienced back then my bf comes to our house and we have to go somewhere important.we ate first before we go.obviously he hasn't brought his toothbrush.so he ask for my toothbrush,i've just finished using it.so then i said it's ok,you can have it.even though we're lovers it doesn't mean we should always share personal things specially toothbrush.it's really disgusting.good luck on you having to share toothbrush with each other is not a good idea.but for emergency purposes.you have no choice but to lend him.the next day be sure to buy your own.

Well, we share everything else, so why not? Actually, years ago Dear Abby had a question about "do I stay or do I leave him?" and she asked the lady if she would share her toothbrush with him. It was supposed to be a way to determine your own commitment to the relationship (I think), but it stirred up a lot of comments.

I am not inclined to share my toothbrush even if he is my partner or love ones because of hygiene issues.

If you truly love one another i dont think theres anything wrong about it. But technically speaking i dont think its a good thing to do , i mean your toothbrush should be yours alone, unless by some kind of a situation like your lover forgot his or her toothbrush and have no other means but to borrow yours.Not that you dont want to lend yours or his but its more of a hygiene issue, you know how to seperate personal stuff like toothbrush or any other personal stuff that you use to clean a part of your body. But in the end you will still be the one to decide whether to lend or not haha

Yes Im willing to share cause I find it so sweet... I done it many times, when I use the toothbrush of my gf I feel heaven while brushing, I feel that the toothbrush comes from lips of an angel. in love you must willing to share everything to your partner. this is one factor of a good and lasting relationship

Oh I always share my toothbrush with my boo! He asked to use it once in the beginning of our relationship and I didn't even think twice before I answered "yes" and then we just kind of started using my tooth brush on a regular occasion because it is a cool sonic one. The batteries run out faster though. :)
