PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A New Jersey man is facing charges after police say he intentionally vomited on an 11-year-old girl and her father in the stands during a Phillies game. Twenty-one-year-old Matthew Clemmens, of Cherry Hill, N.J., was arraigned Friday on charges stemming from his behavior at Wednesday night's Phillies-Nationals game. Police say Clemmens made himself vomit on an off-duty police captain and his daughter after a companion was kicked out for unruly behavior. Easton police Capt. Michael Vangelo says he saw Clemmens put his fingers down his throat. Philadelphia police say Clemmens also punched Vangelo and vomited on an arresting officer. Clemmens is in custody on charges including assault and harassment. Bail is $12,000. His listed phone number is disconnected. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/04/16/police-nj-man-purposely-vomited-phillies-fans/?loomia_ow=t0:s0:a4:g4:r4:c0.000000:b0:z5 What do you think? How far should the police take this? Would you ever do that?

What a nut case! I hate throwing up, could not imagine self-induced vomiting. I think the best way to punish this guy if for Clemmens to have to pay a huge amount of money to the father and daughter. The daughter, I can only imagine, will need psychological treatment after having someone throw up on her, make Clemmens pay for that plus something like maybe college tuition. The father maybe season ticket for at lest one complete season if not multiply seasons. I think that would be more of a direct punishment than just throwing them in jail.

I have never liked the idea of just throwing people in jail as a punishment. Really if you think about it jail time might be a form of punishment for the criminal but does not benefit the victim in any way.

Absolutely right. We have a victims fund but nobody really knows where that money goes.

Wow that is pretty bad. Did the girl's father have something to do with his friend getting kicked out I wonder, or did he just take his anger out on them. That poor little girl. He's lucky that guy was a cop because a normal dad would have whopped that guy till he was barely breathing. You don't mess with someone's kids. I feel bed for that little girl, that is so gross. I think because there was a child involved he should be punished pretty heavily. Certainly lots of fines and I would say tons of community service. I would even say banning him from the stadium for awhile and maybe some AA.

Goodness ravinskye the man hasn't even been proven guilty, yet. Don't you think it's possible this could have been an accident? I got super sick off a turkey burger I ate at TGI Friday's and their lawyer told me the only way I could sue for damages was if I had collected some of my throw up for inspection by a doctor to verify if it was bacterial or not to ascertain food poisoning. Like who in their right mind is going to think of that? In addition, he mentioned they had "just passed" an inspection and the restaurant was clean. Yeah right. I never got that sick before from eating, not even in the army. And from the information I got online, most food borne illnesses are caused by bacteria and cause vomiting. This guy coulda had a bad hot dog for all we know.
