I had to take Cleo to the vet yesterday as her eyes were all red and watery and her nose was running. She was drinking water fine but kinda not eating very well, not at all like usual. After being checked out, the vet decided that she has allergies and gave me some drops to help her eyes clear up and decongestant to give her for the next two days to help clear out her stuffy nose. I didn't know cats could get allergies but it makes sense since many folks cut their lawns at the end of last week for the first time this year and so many trees are blooming. She doesn't really like the eye drops but her eyes already look better so with lots of extra cuddles she'll be back to her usual self soon. My vet said that many animals are having a bad allergy season this year so that could be why I never really noticed that Cleo had them or she may just have developed them. Have you ever had a pet that had allergies? What did you do to help them get thru it?

My old cat, Gipsy, used to react to fresh cut grass, and she was given some drops which kept the worst of the allergic reaction to a miminum.

I don't recall any of the family pets having allergies. Maybe one of them did when i was very young, but I failed to notice it. My childhood is like a big blue blur. Almost literally. Aside from Sonic the Hedgehog, forth of July cook outs, and Halloween, I can't remember much from age 12 and below. My folks said we went to Six Flags amusement park once. I'm sure that'd be something I'd remember. Maybe some of the cats my sister had were victims of allergies. Maybe they were just following her lead. She can't go outside during any time of the year. she acts as though she's allergic to living life. I did notice she liked to wrap them in blankets all the time, like they were sick and immobile or something. Hmm...
