What is the best present you ever received?

Over dinner one day, my friend was upset because for his birthday his girlfriend gave him cash instead of taking the time to go out and purchase a present. His argument was there is no thought in this and he felt under appreciated.
My take was perhaps she was busy and she wanted to give him money so that he could buy whatever he wanted. Thus avoiding to go back to the mall and return the gift.
What your take on this? What is the best present you ever received? Who was it from?

The best gift that i ever recieved was when my husband by me a pet. He buy me a 2 ferrets to be my pet,their name is sofie and babyhey. I am the kind of a person that do not like every now and then i always ask something from my husband coz at the back of my mind the money that his earning is that he really work hard for it. Sometime i just wait but of course you need to say something if you want or need something coz how can your husband knows what you want not until you said something and not unless you married a psychic man lol. My husband will just noticed me if i need or want something coz i will keep talking and talking about that certain thing but i will not demand lol what a strategy.Well, having 2 ferrets is the best gift that i ever had.

Where I live, it is pretty common to give cash as a gift, and many people even prefer it instead of gifts they might not even like, so I personally don't think there is anything wrong with such a gift.
The best gift I ever got was a brand new laptop from my fiancee (then boyfriend), I still use it every day and love it!

I really don't take it as a big deal for me if somebody will give me cash instead of a present for my birthday. I even think it's okay for me if they will not give me anything for that special occasion, the important thing is that they're their celebrating with me. It's something that I could always look forward to. Anyhow, the best gift that I ever received was a rosary which was given to me by my mom. I know it's not something fancy, or something huge, the important thing is that it came from her heart and I love it.

The best present that I have ever received was the gift I received from my parents and in-laws when my husband and I got married. They gave us a house and appliances we can use in our house. Its the best gift for me cause they really helped me a lot in so many ways. They were material things but what best than best are my parents and parents in-law who are ever so supportive all the way.

The best present i received was a laptop from my husband. I like it very much as i wanted one that time. My husband always trying to give a present that i really want. As the case, i don't think that girlfriend does not has any intention to go and buy a present. Its maybe because it is a waste if she buy something that her boyfriend already had. For me, it is fine if my husband just give me a money. I like if people give the thing that i really want. So, give a money as a gifts is not a matter for me rather i have to throw away the present that i don't like.

Well depends what occasion that is,first if for my love one,i don't expect he would give me something precious his presence will be alright.
