Have you ever went to work on your off day?

I woke up extra early today to get in a shower and to try to style my hair like the hairdresser recommended I do. I drove the thirty minutes to the next city to my workplace where my coworker greeted me with, "What are you doing here?" I told her that I was there to work. She then pointed to the schedule, to where my name was not on the list for the weekend. Oh well. Has anyone else made this mistake before?

Yes - I am working with a concern wherein whenever it is necessary we are called upon and shall be available at the site. Sometimes they suddenly call us on a Sunday ( but unfortunately) if we are engaged on this day in advance we have to cancel everything.I feel for it. But cannot help because we are being paid for that too.

I understand how that feels, to be called upon and having to drop or cancel your arrangements. I do have a set schedule but all too often I am called in to cover shifts (better paycheck, at least!) and that can throw me off badly. To be honest, this is not the first time that I have done this.

Because I am being paid double on this working day I don't mind going. This is life and we have to earn for our bead and butter.
