How would you handle monster mother in laws?

Hi guys! Its just so weird and uncomfortable to have a mother in law that is so over protective with his son! All your moves, from the kitchen down to internal arrangements and decorations in the house is being commented negatively. Feels so different and disgusting living mother in laws at home. That would only end up misunderstanding and major trouble in the house with my partner. How about you guys.. do you feel the same? How to handle with it? thanks for sharing...

for me i have my mother in law just like that., but i never think that she is a monster., maybe she is over protected because she love her son so much. our mother in laws is our second parent., and as a parent i have to respect her, listen her advices and things they want to do. i have to give more patience to my in laws as a sign of their aged they got easily irritated even in small things., so more understanding that all i want to give her.,

Sorry sweetie, that problem i don't have. The only advice i can give you. Put your foot down. You are no ones maid and if she doesn't like what you are doing, let her do it and then you sit back and relax. She will eventually get the point. And if that doesn't work, take her on and get this over with. She must understand that you are the women of the house, your rules. Good Luck. TATA.
