Are the Lakers too Old for the Thunder

When I saw the Lakers in game 4, I saw a very old, slow Laker squad. Kobe Bryant contented on passing the ball on the post at the start instead of penetrating, concentrating on their gameplan of establishing their presence on the paint. But it hit the gameplan against them, with the Thunder using its quickness. It seems like the Lakers are always one-step backward. No one can catch up with the running game of the Thunder that caught the Lakers off-guard at times. Could this be the end of the Lakers for the reason that they are old for the Thunder?

Kenneth, I wouldn't say age is a big factor in the game. Look at the Spurs, they are like averaging to be the oldest roster in the NBA. Tim Duncan just turned 34 and he still gives double-doubles almost every game. The Lakers have to play the right way. They are number one in the west, they should play that way. I also think the home court has a factor to do with the loss. Home court = more moral(usually) . Don't blame in on age, blame it on poor initiation. Everyone has a bad game once :)

But how can hey cope up with quickness of the Thunder. They really have a hard time against the Thunder. If the Lakers are the number one team in the west, they must fight as a number one team. Nobody expected that the margin is too big that they did nothing to show. I thought form the start of the series that the experience of the Lakers will carry them of sweeping the Thunder. But it was all caught to naught. If the Thunder eventually win game 5, it could be a sign that the Lakers are now ready to pass their throne to a young team.

Well since the L.A. Lakers finished the series today the statement should be the Thunders are too young for the Lakers. Though Game 6 ended in just one point margin the young team did fought hard and as Kobe Bryant said to Durant that the Thunders would be a team the will have a hard time facing in the coming years. I am so looking forward to the development they will have for the next season when their players mature.

I haven't seen much of this series to be honest, but until they drop a game at home in front of their crowd then I wouldn't worry too much about it, but if the Oklahoma City Thunder formerly the Seattle Supersonics can go into Los Angeles and steal one game then I would say that the Lakers are in some serious trouble, because they have looked really bad in the 2 road losses to them. I think Kobe is playing hurt and trying to do too much as he always does and he needs his teammates to step up in Game 5 if they can just win their home games that would be good enough to advance, but I won't take anything away from Oklahoma City as they are an up and coming team with some good young talent and they are not far away from being a really good team, but I don't think they are quite there yet.

Lakers might be older but they have the experience to win big games like this. They are the defending champions after all, they just have a bad night, thats all.. We will see next time they will dominate.. I know that kobe is still hungry for the championship title..

This could be a start of rebuilding. They should have a fast lineup on the floor consisting of brown, farmar, kobe, artest and odom to keep up with their quickness. The big three of the Thunder ( Durant, Westbrook, Greene) are giving them a lot of problems. Still champs are champs don't underestimate them.
