'Courage is doing the thng you fear anyway.' What do you think? true? I saw that quote posted on a billboard sign off the freeway. There was no other advertisement with it; just the words in big bold print.

To the do the thing you fear most needs the greatest courage. In our day-to-day lives the virtue of courage doesn't receive much attention.Courage is a quality reserved for soldiers, firefighters, and activists.Security is what matters most today. Its the thing we fear most, the security of hose our children our future bothers us the most. Its the fear we are facing nowadays and to overcome this we need the greatest courage.

I do believe that is true. Courage is NOT saying you aren't afraid of anything and then doing a lot of dangerous things to prove it. Courage IS being afraid of things, but still living your life to the fullest. Courage is not something that you should have to prove. Courage is the women and men who have to fight cancer every day...courage is the men and women serving our country whether they are on U.S. Soil or somewhere else in the world...courage is that poor little boy or girl living in an abusive home-and trying their hardest to get through it. People are terrified of cancer - they fight it People are terrified of war and dying/killing - they do it for us Children are afraid of pain - They overcome it THOSE are the truest examples of courage...

I think it is true. Lots of people are afraid, all of the time. Some of them become paralyzed by their fear, and do nothing. Others, who admit they are fearful, at least make an attempt to get going. The funny thing is that they often succeed, too.

Courage is when you sum up all the fear you have and turn it to something else that makes up courage.

Yeah, I would have to say that is a pretty accurate saying. I mean, how brave are you really if you are doing something that might seem terrifying but you are not really terrified of it. That is just a routine part of life. We do things every day. Some of them might seem horrifying to others but not to you. Therefore, that is not showing courage, that is just going along with your day. True courage is standing up to the adversity that you have to face. Things that you fear the most. It might take a lot to sum up the nerve to face it. However, if it terrifies you and you face it, then it will be something that you may be a lot better off for. In the end, true courage is going against what you fear the most above everything else. There may be a good reason that you fear it but in the end, you may be a lot better person for facing it.

hello a very nice question to know what is it fear or courage they are related to each other if you have nothing to do with fear then you cannot achieve what you are feared about so that would give us courage to cut the fear and thus be fearless so better luck be courageous

Nice billboard! The quote is for the most part true. Yet, very often, the fear is not something physical. For example, public speaking takes courage when you are naturally a shy, quiet person and you are doing it for the first time. That is not fear, but it could become fear the second time when you know the audience's reactions and your own limitations. Another example. If you didn't know what a tiger was, you wouldn't be afraid - you wouldn't be courageous either. If you know a tiger and are surrounded by them, you could be afraid and courageous at the same time. But do the two always go together? There is normally something else to consider - foolhardiness.
