My boyfriend today just got himself a used F150. And being the concern party today, I went ahead and bought a CarFax for his own information. And, for the most part, it looks like it could be a good vehicle for him. I have bought two vehicles on my own, and I really didn't have too bad experiences when I got them. Other than maybe a pushy car salesman. But, I'm wanting to know your experiences, were they bad or good, and did you go back to that place and get another vehicle from them?

car - The car I got back in 2007.
I can't say that I've had a best experience when it comes to buying a car. I've had okay experiences, but they certainly weren't great! LOL On the plus side, all but one of my vehicles have been private sales, so I didn't have to deal with any pushy car salesmen! LOL My worst buying experience has to be with a car that my husband and I bought back in 2007. Okay, so it wasn't the actual buying experience itself, but still. My husband and I had been saving like crazy so we could afford to buy a car for our family. After I found one that I liked, we ran a carfax for it. Never before had I done this with a vehicle that we were going to buy, but then again none of them ever cost as much as this one did and I wanted to play it safe. Or at least I thought I was playing it safe. It even came out clean too... Boy were we happy when we first got it! It ran great! No problems whatsoever. Then about 5 or 6 months later it ran like crap after I started it up one day. Just out of the blue. My husband took it in to the mechanic to be evaluated. It turned out to be the engine. Great! However, not only was the engine shot, my husband found out some other information about our car as well while he was there. Apparently the back end of it didn't match up with the rest of the car. Now, neither my husband or I had ever been in an accident with it and we were the only 2 that drove it since we bought it. This can only mean that something must have happened to the car at some point before we ever got it and it never got reported. Needless to say we did not go back and buy another car from where we bought it from. Happy mylotting!
