What's the real China in your mind

My teacher told me that if you want to learn English well , you should watch movies so that improve english skill. So i have watched a lot of Amrica movies But i found a question about China from these. For example , a few days ago, I watched a comday film about love. The actress gave a dog to the actor ,and she said it come from China . The actor laugh .I know it's a joke, but i don't know what's that real mean. About that examle, i have seen a lot. So i confussed . Beacuse we have differedt background, i can't find the answer except some guess.So please tell me : 1.What's the real China in your mind? 2.Whether some chinese have bad habit make they give a bad impression to others? It doesn't matter what you say ,poor or fell behind. I just want to know the truth.

Napoleon Bonaparte once said that "China is a sleeping dragon. Let him sleep. If he wakes, he will shake the world." and now China has awaken from her slumber. The country is now an emerging economic giant that could rival that of the US and the European countries.

I don't think so . Beacuse it's still as a developing country. I know many places are fell behinp except some large cities. The Chinese hope like what you said, but it needs a lot of years. Thank u for reply.

I'm a chinese.I love my country,but actually,china has a lot of problems criticized by the international.China is still a developing country regardless of the rapid development in recent years.We should be more tolerant.
