I personally agree. My basis being my stay there for 3 weeks. They are very respectful. Do you agree? Note that I am not Canadian. :)

I wouldn't agree to that. I have a Canadian classmate back in college and he was very arrogant. I guess with their culture most of them have good manners, maybe my experience was just an isolated incident.`

i don't agree that canadians are the nicest people in the world. this is a general statement only...i have a close encounter with a canadian who is so mean...not to put canadians down...but, i do believe that there are other people from other countries that are also nice, warm, and respectful...sometimes, we put a "brand" to people because of the good experiences we get in general...same is true when we encounter a thief from a particular country...then, likewise, we put a "brand name" to that particular place..

I dont want to offend anybody but I feel i have to give my opinion when i see this. I am canadian and work at a call centre for a high profile cell phone company that deals with americans. I cant completely say its all americans, but all the americans I have dealt with have been unbelivably rude to me. And I noticed something by talking to americans. I cant judge all of them becuase their are usually not the happiest when they call us anyway but I noticed a few things. They do not wait until your done talking to say waht they feel liek saying where canadians do. it makes conversations hard to get through when im trying to explain them something about their phones and they wont let me go through it. Also sometimes they can be rude when they dont even know it. Like I had a woman say Listen lady! and I got offended shes like i wasnt trying to be rude, but she most deffinately was. Im not saying this to offend anyone like i said, just in this case I am glad to be canadian, because we do have our rude people but all in all, in my experiences, we tend to respect people, even people we dont know. Like any country out there we have our good and our bad, but I tend to have more experiences with the good then the bad, thats what makes me completely happy to be canadian, we co operate with eachother more then we butt heads i find.

I do want to add, all americans Ive spoke with on here were very nice, just the ones i have met in person or through the phones at work were very rude and belittled me, so no one on here take offence, im talking bout my experiences at work and in person.

Hello there, well it's good to know that they are very nice people. In fact I have friends living there who says that although Canada can be very cold, and lonely, the people are nice, racism is low, and they have good manners. But then just like any place on Earth, there can be nice people, not-so-nice people and there are those that are just awful.

its true though I havent come across much racism or prejudice, if any its not very common at all where I am from in Canada which is what I like so much about living here I guess people may not always get along but rarely in my experience is it ever from colour or preference its always personality thats what I like I guess, I just find I never feel unsafe or worried to much about daily life here

Oh yes. I have a CANADIAN friend and he was really very nice. Never have I seen him mad or seen him gone berserk even if he was treated badly. But then again, I also have an AUSTRALIAN friend who never fails to be on the rescue whenever we have a friend in need. He was always the first one to get to a troubled friend's house. Helping them out with whatever that needs mending. Whenever my CHINESE friend has a problem (who is very nice as well if I may say) our AUSTRALIAN friend takes him out of town to destress for a day or two. You see my CHINESE friend tend to be depressed a lot. He feels that he is alone when in fact, there are a lot of people who loves him because he is such a giver.... Oh and did I mention that my AMERICAN bud is really nice. He has a way to make you feel really good about yourself. He has an outgoing and laidback qualities that makes us want to always hang out with him. Happy mylotting joe!

Well that's because us Filipinos have crab mentality tendencies. We are jealous of each other and want to pull the others down. And we also try to "keep up with the Joneses". However, we don't want to generalise because not all Filipinos are like that, as much as not all Canadians are nice. I had a friend married to a Canadian but she is living miserably because her husband is very arrogant, greedy and he hits her.

I am Filipino and live in the Philippines, melloncollie. Believe me when I say this to you: they are nice to foreigners and tend to be hostile to their own. This is based on my personal experience. They love trying to trick people. I have seen that too often. I experienced better service, more respect, and more politeness in Canada compared to here.

Ohh well dear friend , if you already had an experience to be around canadians in theire own soil , then i could surely take your word for it , further then that i can't have my own opinion on it , since i have never yet had an aquiantance that is Canadian or at least lived for a while in Canada so it could confirm if theire nice or not , but i do think that they must have some bad an unrespectfull people too , because every country has them. Have a nice day

Very true, society is made out of individuals and not all individuals are exactly alike. Thanks for the comment :)

Every single citizen has a nice traits in their own ways. It's just that it's being affected by your outlook on the way they view things, the way they share their opinions and thought and the religions that they are connected with. I can say that Filipinos are very hospitable, Canadians are very nice, etc. But the fact still remains that in a hundred people that is good, one is not.
