okay, so this is a question I am really curious about, do you thiink its more imporatnt going to work or staying home to get better. My dad stays home when hes really sick, but luckily he can work from hom so his job doesnt get upset, where my job is so crazy about attendance that its hard to stay home sick becuase you dont want to get in trouble. I am really sick this week and had to take thre days off, and im worried that ill get in troble. The thing is, I work at a call centre, I dont understand their logic, if one person comes in sick and gets 50 people sick, andthey get mroe people, then you wont have anyone at work because it spread like wildfire. So personally, I dont regret staying home, but my boss' dont feel the same. What do you think about that, would you go in work really sick, or would you stay home becuase health should be important?

your boss probably is a presenteeism. nevertheless, we do not compare ourselves to our bosses because they doesn't work exactly like we work. i work like a playing top and when i am sick i just use to hybernate for some days until i am well.

i used to go to work sick and troop it out when i only worked 4 hour shifts parttime as a studen. Because its only four hours can make myself get through it. But my current job is 10 hour shifts, and I know I wouldnt make it through the ten hours being as sick as I am thats why I didnt attempt it. Which is why I asked the questions.

I think that health and work are both very important, but these days, most people cannot see a doctor unless they have the money to see one. People have to work to keep themselves healthy.

not to be rude, but in my case, im a canadian and our doctors/hospital visits are paid for. When we go to the doctors or hospital we dont have to pay out of our pockets, so our situation is different as we dont have toworry bout having the money to go. I was jst wondering if you would rather stay home and rest to get better or go back to work despite being very sick.

Sick or not, I would go to work because I would not want to lose my job.

For me, health is more important. If you failed on it you'll not be able to work.

going to work nowadays is maybe more important to many people, because in this financial crisis there are many people who lose their job every day, and maybe they will really say that work is more important but for me health is that what is on first place, because work can't make you feel good, but good health can!

Hello i am retired now, but in my view health is to be given top priority, if one is healthy he can get another job, going to works with even common cold is not advisable, it can spread... Thanks, God bless you. cheers Happy posting. Prof

I'm currently trying to figure out which is more important. I am not allowed to miss work, even to see a doctor. I will still get in trouble and I am close to being fired. I recently got out of the hospital and am facing some health issues. Now I'm trying to decide if it is worth going to work thru this? Will I make my condition worse? Will I wind up back in the hospital? Will I lose my job? Should I just quit my job and spend the next few months just dealing with my treatment and getting better? I don't know if my boss would work with me and my condition. But I know I don't want to lose my job and go broke. Especially when I have to pay these hospital bills. At this point I really don't know what I should do. Personally I feel that if a person is REALLY sick they should stay home from work. But that's because I don't want to catch whatever they have! It makes sense to not come in so you don't get everyone else sick. My coworkers and I have passed way too many colds and flus around to each other and I'm tired of it. But we're all in the same boat where we don't want to get fired for missing work.
