Hi Java09, Most of the letters I write these days are either to companies or in reply to government agencies. Official business type of letters. I occasionally write notes in cards at Christmas, especially if I haven't seen someone for a while. I keep in touch with friends either by phone or over the Internet. It's quicker and sometimes cheaper that snail mail.

I love writing letters, even with the quickness of the internet, I would never replace emails with writing letters, so, nice, receiving a letter throught the post, surprisly enough, not everyone is online. Hearing, someone's voice at the end of the phone is always better than not hearing from them, a letter, can be looked over many times, it is also an reminder, that someone is thinking of you, has, taken the trouble to write, to let you know,. I used to write to loads people, unfortuntely, after a number of years, some of them stopped writing for no reason, which is a shame, I still have some friends to keep in touch with. You do not need to know someone, far a way, anyone, who, needs a friend, would welcome a letter from you, it might just be the only person who has been in touch with them for a long while, think, how, they will feel, receiving a letter from you, just, might, make their day.

When I was in elementary school my mom and dad encourage us to write a letter. We usually send it to my family and relative in others island. We share story about our daily life or funny story we had at home or school. But now we tend to call or text them, because long distance phone call now is cheap enough, because all operator lower their rate.

Well, no matter how far someone is, there's always e-mail to communicate with them. Lol. However, as for me, I actually have someone to write letters to. I'm in a long distance relationship, and there's literally a whole ocean between us (the Pacific Ocean). Although we usually communicate through the web and through phone, nothing beats a handwritten love letter. It's still very romantic, and through it, you can really feel the love and effort of your loved one. And the anticipation you feel when you wait for the letter to arrive at your loved one's place is really one-of-a-kind. I usually send letters along with gifts and such.

i have wrote letter to friends. it is a good idea to write to my friends when i have some serious words to say. sometimes it is hard to say i love you or i miss you through phone or face to face. writing a letter, as a traditional way to communicate, is more comfortable when there are something to tell but dont know how to start.
