Dishwashing Soap and Feminine Wash as Facial Wash?

I know it sounds silly but I have heard people using these stuff to wash their face. When I was a teen my mother asked me to wash my face with herbal tea. We boil the tea and then when it's lukewarm I splash it my face. It was a weird feeling and I think I kept on doing it for a week. It was said to make your skin healthy but it just felt so unclean for me. So I switched to using a facial wash and until now I don't think I'll ever try that tea for my face again. I have an office mate who swears that this feminine wash makes her face blemish free but I think it's really weird. I also read an article about this girl who uses Dishwashing liquid to wash her face and swears that it helps make her face acne-free. Have you tried doing anything like this?

That is true we have different skin types so what works for others may not work for us. That is why it is very important to know our skin type so we can use the right product

No, I never tried a feminine wash nor a dishwashing liquid to wash my face. I only use cetaphil since it's the only one that did not give me breakouts. I think dishwashing liquid's ingredients are rather too harsh to be used on the face.

Yes I think dishwashing liquid can be harsh as when I wash the dishes it tends to dry my hands. Same here I also love using celeteque.

Hello caliya, I definitely don't put anything like these to my face, i wash my face with ordinary face wash and put my conditions on. I am very careful about my face and i am very allergic too. When ever i go to gym i don't even use gym's towels , i bring towel from my house to dry my face. But when we were kid if we get something in the eye my mom used to fill a small glass of herbal tea and put them on our eyes and made us open our eyes to the herbal tea. I never sea any bad effect of it as a matter affect it seriously cleaned our eyes from dust and dirt.

I have found form working for a perfume manufacturer, that scientist actually invest great deal of resources to study and produce products which will be safe for use on certain parts of the body. The face has special topical compositions that are more sensitive then other parts of the body. Chemicals react different on your facial skin. Dishwashing soap is designed to break down oils, grease, and dissolve degradable, such as food compounds that harden and stick to dishes, also are made so that the skin is not broken down while using it. Still you may find that hands feel very dry after continuous use of it? What do you think it will do to your face?

I heard they use Perla in the rural areas of the Philippines. I can't imagine using soap for your laundry on MY face though. The idea is that if it whitens your clothes... it'll whiten your face!

i had been applauded many times on my being a tightwad and i've researched frugal living on the net and am surprised you didn't mention the dish washing soap as a shampoo. it is true. you just have to dilute the dish washing liquid for it to qualify as a shampoo. it is said that the basic components of these products are basically the same. it doesn't go far away from mineral oils or vegetables oils for lotions or cleansing creams. they would do far better than the bottled, commercialized varieties. however, substitutes sometimes isn't as good. sometimes you have to really buy the product intended for a particular use.

Dishwashing soap to wash your face? Wow... I've never tried it. But if there is a match to eleminate acne, go ahead! Because of that person's skin is different. You want to try? Go ahead, but if the face is damaged, do not blame..., okay?
