It is new members who START too many topics here.

I have observed the no-response trend for the past three to four days. Most of the no responses topics are from new users to mylot. Is it because they try to make a fast buck here in mylot. OR, is it because all the old-timers are arrogant and too proud to respond in new user topics? I am risking my reputation and star rating here, by calling names, but, i would not tolerate anymore. Just now, I have seen one new member, with about 34 postings, feeling depressed and commenting that he/she brings bad luck to others, as the topic was deleted due to not following admin guidelines. And, I expected other seniors to be at the aid of the newbie. And, there is yet another newbie, who started posting just one topic in different subjects of interest. He/She presumed that those topics will be listed separately. How sad? Where are all the senior mylotters?

This is an absolutely wonderfull discussion for a newbie (like me) to read. It's an excellent first impression. A grand look into the experienced mylotter and something to strive for. I have also noticed that it is ok to bend the guidelines as an experienced mylotter as long as you know how. Such as posting "flame" and being quite rude to others, but apparently if "flame" is said with a flare it doesn't get noticed. Maybe you can do that in comments or responses but not posts. I don't know I'm confused but I'm sure someone can enlighten me. I don't mean disrespect to those of you who have senority I respect that fact but I hate to see the us against them thing, and maybe one day I will be an "us" but for now I am a "them". What type of things should we discuss? What do you think we should comment to? Perhaps if you can help us newbies maybe we could be much less annoying. One final thing I feel I must mention. I thought when I signed up this site was a way to make money but quickly learned it isn't for that purpose and any money made is a sweet bonus. The site is fun and informative. I like getting and giving opinions and insight on people's lives, especially when I don't know them. I enjoy it and hope it stays fun.

BEST RESPONSE friend. though most of us come here to make money at the start, it soon changes to the opinion you suggested. How soon you learned the secret. the money made is a sweet bonus thanks for bringing it into the open. And, i have lost a point on my star rating, due to this topic. But, I have brought it out to discussion. Hope all newbies and freshers, read this topic, along with the TOS, and guidelines of mylot. Goodluck to you and happy mylotting. your time here will definitely give you more than a mere BONUS.

Welcome to myLot roxxtime! I do hope that senior/veteran/old Lotters have not given you the wrong impression, Not all of us are evil. Some of us spend a lot of time sharing what we have learnt over the time we are here with those who have joined later. I do this, hoping that they will find their slot sooner and will not give up. We, all of us!, need new Lotters who will bring a breath of fresh air with new ideas and new topics. You will not see me using the word 'newbies' in my posts because I don't personally like it. As you say, we were all new once (and some of us twice) and I hope by sharing with one and all my experience here I can help others avoid the pitfalls and start reaping the benefits sooner. Happy FUN Lotting!

When a new user registers here at myLot they then immediately receive an email containing information and links to all of the Guidelines, FAQs and Termsof Use. Sadly only a minority take the time to read before posting. They then get the wrong idea of what myLot is about and start posting, thinking, incorrectly, that the more dicussions they start then the more they will earn. Many older users spend a huge part of their time helping, advising and guiding the new users. However only some of them listen and act on this advice. It is up to them, their choice. Those that do take notice go on to be happy Lotters. The others are usually disappointed. When I am here I have the 'no responses' tab open the whole time. I respond on most of the discussions entitled 'how do I earn here?' which then get deleted This senior Lotter is here, almost every day, but can only do so much... I can't be everywhere. Not only, but there are also posts by older Lotters which entice others to respond but are Guideline violations that need reporting. That is another thing that takes up the time of only a few when it should be something done by ALL of us. Plagiarists abound here and cause is all damage when we lose our posts thanks to them. There is a LOT do do on the Lot, not just new users who need our attention. Oh and at some point there just might be some time left to post something which might benefit us too, after we have done all the rest

oh my! HONORED at last, i could bring one of the gurus of mylot. and, Madam mysdianait , i will do my best to bring your goal into reality. With over 1300 friends, I am trying to guess how busy and annoying your mylot time is. Thankyou for responding here. Wishing you more strength in your eyes, fingers and more time in your internet log.

I am happy to help Rich, especially those who help themselves too My goal is to see one day here when there are no deletions, no complaints and only happy Lotters having fun - but that is a long way away I fear Indeed I don't start many of my own but I do get involved on many others throughout the day, all day most days - and sometimes well into the night

I do not think that the reason for having no response from old timers/seniors is because of arrogance. It can be a case of them not having friends where of course they are new here so the old timers did not see their started discussion or the case that their started discussion did not follow the guidelines and thus you would not want your response to be deleted too. Of course one should be kind enough to remind one newbie that he/she is not following some do's and don'ts but if they come in tens then one can get tired reminding and as a newbie you should read the guidelines first before even starting. I think not only newbies get no response but also old timers. Maybe it is the case of decreasing online activity. And these days I find less topics that I want to respond to.

thanks .. and there are two things, which I found in your response, that are to be observed and highlighted for the mylot community. 1. that the newbies should first READ the guidelines first. 2. that you are not able to find good topics to respond to. I would try to re-kindle your enthusiasm in the topics for responding. Sure.

You can a third one which I think a respondent below mentioned too, it is about having friends. Having friends does not only mean they would be answering your started discussion but also you can see their started discussion. When I am at home page I usually see the topics in under friend started and respond to to topics which interest me. I hope you and others too make discussions that are fun to respond to. One discussion that would make the respondents just type freely as thoughts just rush to their minds and alas you have not noticed you typed a lot already. i too hope someday I can evoke those feelings. And most importantly discussions that would not let the respondent have an email the next minute saying "Your response was deleted because the discussion above it was deleted."

i guess theres nothing to do with newbies or senior members when it comes to giving response. in fact they might just be busy responding to their friends in list or busy doing with something. as newbies, its their responsibility to read faq or even policy of the website not just here in mylot but also to other site for them to be informed of whats in that website. being newbies is not really an excuse knowing that everything is in the site TOS, its not our fault or anyone fault if they're post got deleted or if they dont know what to post here, for in fact we can post everything as long as we dont carbon copy someones post or as long as we dont voilate the site. seniors used to help newbies but as what admins said though i just make it in my own words, better to let newbies feed out of their own for them to learn everything than give them a spoon full of food for them to feed coz they will always expect someone to tell them what to do and what is not.

homeshoppers I have read your comment and thanks for that. you seem to be very soft and calm in your real world too. Your words on the newbies ... that we should better let them feed out on their own are true to some extent, according to me. Because, if I err, and before the mylot admin catches me (They would anyhow catch the defaulters!) .. if some senior and experienced tells me the mistake, I would be more comfortable. And, you are right again, that the minimum thing any new comer should do is read the TOS, and guidelines. BUT, alas. It is a fast paced world. anyhow, LOTS of thanks.

There are just some people who would just think of how to gain more bucks, without reading TOS or any guidelines. There are some also, who are misinformed or misguided. But whatever is the cause of deletion of posts/discussions, everyone shall learn from its lesson. But I don't think it's a matter of being a newbie or a senior mylotter. Senior mylotters were once a newbie. We all came from being a newbie, so please no discrimination. Maybe some posts were just simply not interesting at all, that's why it didn't get any response, I don't think it's either because of the arrogance and pride of senior mylotters or the ignorance of TOS of newbies. It's just a matter of reality that things like this happens. happy mylotting!

thankyou. But, I agree, if there are no posts or topics that trigger the interest, but, i CANNOT agree that the other topics are just money making referral link related. YES, we all came from being newbies. But, did we not learn? TO keep posting in other topics, as also start a few good discussions? Hope all newbies read this entire topic. Anyhow, let us all hope to make this funny place a happy place too.
