Where do all the mylotters go?

I have been a member of mylot for over two years now. I have seen mylot change for good, and have been paid on time every month. I have met many new people here all around the world, and even made some friends. But many of these people I have met over the years seem to disappear. Every two months or so when I come back, I see and meet new people. Only few of the older members and even fewer of my friends return. So where do all the mylotters go in this time?

If I had something that was more important offline then I would not be here either. I am here less now than before as I have more hours at work compared to last year and I have a grandson too. Some of my friends no longer have internet at home and are not posting. others are away for work or visiting relatives but will return. Others are possibly bored seeing the same faces posting over and over again There is the other side of the coin though Snam. If you return once every couple of months you will find new online earners who are unaware of how to do things, where to earn etc. and you can revive all your old discussions because they will not have seen them

You had some discussions that will never go out of date. It's enough to add a comment and they reappear in 'recent' and 'similar topics' again. It seems natural to exchange emails contacts with those Lotters who become real friends. We will never lose touch with each other then even if other things to distract us from here.

I guess I will have to do that soon. Never got around it and I have a feeling I will regret it if I don't go back to them. Yes, another thing I regret about myLot is that I never made any "true" friends to stay in contact with. I know a few members here and there but I should have become closer to the ones I knew instead of adding everyone I saw as a friends.

I can understand this as it applies to me also. But you and I also manage to find time once in a while to visit myLot. I guess this depends on how devoted someone is to mylot. You are lucky to have stayed in contact. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get many people's contact such as email. But I have some of their websites and blogs bookmarked, so hopefully, if necessary, I can contact them through their sites. That is an interesting idea that I must execute. I wish I had thought of it sooner!

I have the same question snam23! When I was just few months old here, I always come accross to the discussions of these mylotters, they always respond to my discussions too and we always exchange additional ideas... They are very active... But I noticed after the cut off payout they just disappeared... I don't know where they go... Never heard form those mylotters again since then... Wonder if they are so busy with their offline jobs and real lives... Or have they seen something like mylot that pays a little bigger? As for me I am enjoying my time in here... I may be absent for a couple or few days but I always return... Well if I bump on them in here again, I will definitely ask them...

I guess we were lucky because when we came here, myLot was way more interesting and fun with higher earnings. We had more support back then too. When exactly did the payment rates drop? I never knew the original (actually, no one knows it for sure but people can estimate or look at the patterns) payout rate but I did notice we do get less than before. I'm sure they found something that pays better than myLot as many sites do but the community here is almost unbeatable. If you ever see or hear from them and are able to ask, be sure to share what they said (unless they told you not too).

Yes, I know what you mean. I would be disappointed if I thought I followed the rules and my discussions still got deleted. However, many people do not read the guidelines and some discussions are debatable. However, I feel that myLot is more fair about discussions than most forums because if the content of the discussion (responses and comments) is still good, there is a smaller chance it will get deleted (in my opinion.)

Hi snam! Yes I guess that is true... I heard before the earnings per post before are a bit higher than what we are getting now... I am seeing post with lots of referral links too, I browse and look back at the old old discusiions here... Mylot is not that strict before... May be one of the factors too are thse deleted discssions.. Yes we all need to follow the rules and every sites has its own set of rules but we cannot blame them too if they felt really disappointed with those discussions they made that were deleted... Yes snam, I will definitely ask them why they were gone for months if I see them in here again...

I don't know, I'm here daily, well, nearly daily and I see the same folks over and over - granted some fade away, but some people delete people that leave for extended time, I wonder if that's what is happening to you...

Maybe my friends have left a long time ago and I haven't noticed? Maybe they have deleted me. If this is the case, hopefully I can find and add them again!

Well I am glad you're back. We need to spice this place up a bit. It is getting quite dull and repetitive.

I feel the same way you do. There used to be a number of people that i have gotten close to. By close I mean, we followed each other's trails, joked a lot, helped each other out when it comes to earnings, or ratings...those sorts. I guess you know what I mean. It was sort of like a clique but the type that doesn't brush away newbies. I kinda miss the days when we were here together. But then, it's also a consolation to find new ones. The thing is myLot seems to have seasons. There used to be a season when topics were great, interesting, hilariously funny, and down seasons. I disappeared during the down seasons and came back and saw that a lot has changed both for the bad and good alike. :)

I know we are not the only ones! I wasn't very close but I was close enough to get help here and there and even offer help and exchange sites and stuff. It was like a group of people willing to help each other and share new secrets. And like you said, they did not reject newbies. That is an interesting thing to say about myLot having seasons. I never thought about it like that. But maybe more than seasons, it is like periods, like the Renaissance period as it can last quite a while. So what season do you think we are in?

I have been wondering that too. SO many people I have met over the last year I have been a member here. I had good relations with many of them. And interations going beyond just the discussions and responding to some of each others. There was a personal touch. But when I kind of had a forced hiatus from mylot and rebegan as I would say with a vengence, I saw that half of them rarely visited mylot. I wonder where they go. Maybe they got bored of mylot which I think is an impossible option. SO then maybe they are just plain busy someplace else. Too busy to let mylot be a distraction any more.

Many people had that personal touch to their friendships and I miss that. It was so nice knowing someone when you joined a new site or forum to welcome you or guide you. I think if they were bored, they could always start an interesting discussion to make things interesting. That is one of the motivations behind starting discussions for me. I think you are right and they are just busy offline. Maybe they got a new job or made it big with a business or something. Let's just hope they can come back in the future.

I'm a ne member here in mylot. I'm wishing that I can also feel what you have feel in using this site. I love responding to some interesting discussions and meet people who have the same interest of me. I'm hoping that I can find new good friends here and we will have some great discussions about certain things of interests. I'm so amazingly excited!

I'm sure if you keep up the good work and respond to discussions that interest you, you will find many friends here. Over time you will know how many of the older members feel. My advice is always try to fit at least one response each day, even if it is short or just a comment. This can help you stay active over a long period of time and you will find how to make it fit your daily routine. I hope you enjoy myLot! Also, feel free to ask any questions you may have about myLot.

Really snam23, I love the updated new version of myLot. We have more fun logging in here now. I believe the old friends of us will back to here again if they learn that there have lots of new changes after they stay away. Yeah, we meet new people here every now and then. And there are old friends back to here again as well. A few of my old friends become more active as earlier I think many of them are busy with some other essential matters off line. Happy posting

Yes, I agree with you and they will surely love all the new features that myLot has added, especially those that long overdue like the threaded forum view. I guess this is a busy time for a lot of people Well, it will become busy for me too as I have my final exams coming up in June.

Hello snam23! Well i guess they are out of the community or can't login because of offline activity, maybe busy, or maybe some of them feel it takes a long time to reach a minimum payment in mylot and maybe they found a new community, yaa i don't know for sure, but you are right, lately, i rare to meet an old friends being active again in mylot

All very valid and common reasons. I just hope they can come back some day so we can see them again! But I guess myLot moves on without them...

Yes I often wonder where all the mylot vets go too there are a few regulars that have been missing lately, I guess life just consumed most of there time or either they found somthing else that interest them who knows but all we can do is keep lotting and hope for there return.

I know of a few that appear in other forums and sites and such. I guess they're just busy with life. I mean, in the end, your life will almost always overcome mylot no matter how much you like it. But I guess you are right. All we can do is keep mylotting and hop for their return.

I have been here a while and I have seen many people come and go. Some go away for some time and some come back. I don’t know why, I suppose the thing that we need the most in order to be on this great site is time and a lot of the time life will no longer allow us to be here. For some of the less dedicated ones there may be disappointment over the slow earnings...It is a shame to lose so many oldies and as much as I welcome new members I do miss some that started out here a long time ago; there is one in particular who I miss, she is the best writer and her discussions were brilliant and yet she has been gone for what seems a really long time. Shame...

Yes, I agree, time could be limiting the site from being the best it could be. Slow earnings will always be a disappointment for those expecting too much and for not being dedicated enough. Yes, no one can replace all those members that were here since the beginning of myLot. I just hope this generation of mylotters will not disappear either! I think I may know who you are talking about. She was brilliant and very active in her discussions too, not like some newer members.

I notice the samething here.Sometimes I go off for a few days ,but I always come back, and alot of times the old people here are gone and I see new and different members.I guess maybe they get bored with the site here.I love the site and sometimes I take a break for awhile from using it.I know where I live the weather got very nice outside,so I go outside alot after the long cold winter we had.I want to enjoy some outdoors.

Yes, the weather where I live is very nice too but it can also get very hot so sometimes it is better to stay cool inside or just at the pool. But I think if all the older members returned then myLot would be less boring for everyone.

People Come, People Go... Social groups like MyLot are not static. New people enter from time to time while other people are leaving. (Just remember from your high school days how you might be "in" with a given group for a while and then on "outs" with them.) On the close personal level, you may realize over time that some people that have gotten close to you are not really your type after all and you may move away from them, or they from you. You may encounter new people with whom you feel more compatible and seek new relationships to replace the older fading ones. Sometimes people physically move to another geographical area and are unable to stay in touch. Sometimes people die or become too ill to maintain relationships of any kind. As for both close personal groups and extended social or business groups, you see "members" come and go from time to time. Same here with MyLot...

I am still in high school but understand what you mean. I just thought maybe myLot could be different, but I guess technically, it is a social networking site and the rules will apply here as well.

I have been mylotting for 2 months now and I think by next month (June 2010) I won't be able to participate that much in discussions. I won't be able to post that much since we will have to start our classes in college. It's going to be my first year and I want to get high grades and so I have to study. I might not have time for MyLot. But if I have some spare time after studying, I'll try posting on MyLot. I don't know why others are starting to disappear. Maybe it's because of work. It can also be because after MyLot has paid them, they no longer wish to post anymore. Another reason that I can think of is that they earn very few cents here in MyLot and having a difficulty in reaching $10 and so they got tired of it and disappeared. These are my thoughts about the reson why others disappear after a few moths. I'm not so sure about it... Happy mylotting to you guys!

Yes, as many people always tell me, studying and education should always be first. Those are all valid reasons and sound very reasonable. I hope some of them return even just for a little while. I miss having the more experienced people here to share their experiences.

Yes, that is true but a necessity if you start many discussions because it is better to interact with people in discussions. I know it can be worth it too as there have been days where I only respond and I still earn. I hope you don't get bored here!

Thats a good question., Ive only been a mylotter for a short while but I understand wht you mean. Im completely addicted to this site! Its amazing,. You meet so mnay people and learn so mjmany things and you have the opportunity for more here too! I cant underastand why anyone would want to leave as a member, personally. Although everyone has their own stuff going on off the computer screen, you know. Maybe they joined bc they had a time period to be off or they moved on to other things or nothing at all or maybe they ahev just taken really long breaks or some other personal reason to them.

Yes, all those sound like possible reasons someone would want to leave. But do you think they will ever come back? I really miss having older members here and if this keeps up, I will be one of those senior members that have been here for a long time! And I still feel like a newbie
