How do you de-stress yourself?

We all work 5 days a week and for some 6 days. Reports, letters and memos have to be sent to people, we deal with different clients everyday - others are considerate some are just plain angry because of various things. These are all part of a week's work. Friday comes and you leave everything behind in the office - how do you de-stress yourself? What are the things you do to finally end the week and start the weekend?

A nice hot shower with plenty of Lush products is my favourite way of washing away the working day. I also like to do yoga, and the deep breathing helps to destress.

Wow! Just thinking about is already getting me relaxed! :) I do want to try yoga but I do not know what can be achieved with it. Mind if you can shed some light about it?

Sure- yoga is fabulous and isn't just about physical exercise it balances your mind, body and spirit. Here are some of the things I have gained from yoga practice: 1) Increased flexibility 2) More relaxed and positive attitude 3) Better quality sleep 4) More energy and vitality 5) Excellent health I would recommend trying a few classes!

To de-stress myself, at anytime, usually i take my dog for a nice long walk in the forest. Works for me every time. Additionally, i go for a nice long warm bath, with a magazine and a tub of yogurt, lol. Truth and it works great as well. Sometimes I will just lay on the couch and watch a move but my favorite is going for a walk. De-stressing is a good way to rejuvenate our minds, body and soul.

Yes, well peace does it for me. I like the serenity of a quiet space, allowing thoughts to be collected and put in their proper place. Then I am ready for a new slate. Partying only riles me up more, lol. A nice chamomile cup of tea doesn't hurt either. In fact it has a calming effect which in turn helps to relax ourselves.

I am pleased that with the responses received, no one has mentioned that they de-stress by smoking or partying... I hope I'm not speaking too soon but it is a good idea that our ways of de-stressing is to really be away from work and everything else and just be at peace.

well i work 7 days a week. i have a cyber cafe and i dont have any holidays at all. but by god's grace and a little bit of my effort i am healthy. to destress i exercise everyday and also do meditation and breathing exercise. so when take a day or two off half the time i work to get my body and mind in balance and half the time i enjoy with my friends and party. well i dont drink or smoke so its a added advantage.

Hello Funkeyguhl, With reference to your query, I try to de-stress myself by taking some photographs. After which, I try to divert my attention and time to upload the pictures in my website. In that way, I feel relax and find myself stress free. Same thing I do to end my weekend, I do take some picture for uploading, in order for me to be inspired in the coming weekdays of work.

I just relax.. take a break with all the things that gives me stress.. I will just watch the birds, trees or anything that makes me calm.. or sometimes i play with my friends so i can forget about my stress.. but don't forget what you are doing, enjoy just as needed don't be too relax or you might end up losing what you are doing..

My spouse and children are always top priority, there's nothing like being at home with them. I enjoy watching comedy on tv, especially Two In A Half Men. Playing chess against the computer, doing word finds, bowling and shoot'in pool.

These days every one is getting stressed by unwanted works. As every human being is getting engaged in many activities beyond a human range.I just really don't understand. Man used to very very hard work a few decades back and not at all spell stress or tired and despite of this hard work every one was maintaining good health. But because of the technological developments the mind also developed in a negative way and a human is getting himself stressed. Plan your life in a streamlined way with all positive attitudes and spend some time just for your self-no wife, children friends, relatives or any other one. It is just U. See what changes takes place after a few weeks.
