A friend was talking about Beyonce's new video for "Why Don't You Love Me" yesterday so I just looked it up. I am not a Beyonce fan, and really don't care for the song but this music video is GREAT. It's shot in this kind of scratchy, vintage-looking way and Beyonce plays this adorable pinup, 50's homemaker character; cat eye sunglasses, waist belts, heels, short cut bangs and red lipstick. I loooove that style of fashion. If you don't really like Beyonce much either, at least watch the video on mute because it's a work of art. ^o^

I found the video a bit raunchy for my taste. It was well done though with the fashion being quite on the mark then sent way over the edge...lol.

There is a lot of that going on right now with other artist too and it seems to be working out for them so I guess that kind of sets the trend for others in the industry to do the same. That is the great thing about working in music you can express yourself in so many ways and it can really be a lot of fun especially when they take you back to a time when we used to admire a certain look for example. The best thing about a lot of them is that can give us some great ideas for some of our own trends and fashion can be fun for us even if we want to be different and not follow the main trends of things.

Apologies not checked the exact video yet but not my kind of pinup. Not into homemakers as you put it. I rather be with Independent and modern girl, and hence usually only interested in them as pin ups. Even if you mean just artistically here, an artistic video still not keen on "50s" home maker, women have come a long way and frankly not keen even if a video. Let me clarify I mean homemaker as in 1950's when women were expected to do nothing but be a homemaker. Also tbh don't like 50's fashion thing either, wouldn't like my GF dressing as such.
