Have you read Nostradamus? What do you make of his predictions? Truth or Scares?

Nostradamus - Is there really anything in the prophesies of this man?

Nostradamus's book 'The Prophecies' was written in 1555. Over the years many of his prophecies have been 'proved' to have come true. Do you think that this is just the way that people read his work and what has happened in the world or do you think his prophecies really have come true? With lots of people waiting to see if the doomsday, mayhem and destruction he predicted for 2012 is time running out for us or for his prophecies??

There's one thing I notice right away with Nostradamus's predictions. They sound really similar to many religious predictions that were made before his time. So what I deduce from this is that he is an educated person, and has read alot. He took the predictions made from these books, and tried to make them seem as his own. He's basically just a plagerist. He probably figured that someone might catch onto that so he added a few extra details. But the extra bits of info are flawed. You can see that they are very vague, and one could make a connection to almost any event. They aren't specific. So I'm going to say he's a fraud. Why he did it I don't know. To be remembered. To be famous. Money. Power.

No prophecies, they'd be prophecies if they had predicted before that event even happened. What he said is completely ambiguous. There was no prophecy but simply pic and chose and put pieces where they don't fit to proclaim there was/is a prophecy. If there is any proof of any prophecy then predict before it happens and pin point it when and where it will happen. Many cultures & religions have different kind of prophecies and many similar to each other, doomsday being one of them. Christian version it is called Armageddon.

ya i have heard about. it but personally i believe any astrologer or prophet can predict in a general sense but not in specific terms. dont worry nothing is going to happen in 2012. we are all going to live as we live today. you will see that 23 dec 2012 will come and go like people use to say that in year 2000 all computer data will be lost but nothing happened. man is the master of his own destiny and if GOD decides for us and God only knows not nostradomus.

hi oldchem1, I belive that even if Nostradamus's predictions come true, it still doesnt mean anything, because there were lots and lots of other predictions made by other people in that era for example Tesla, he was a scientist i think, and he predicted that we would use portable devices to communicate with each other through electroninc messages, and now we use mobile phones to communicate with each other using SMS's. Sure Nostradamus might have some of his predictions come true, but i still dont belive in him, because I know that the world will not come to an end along with its Judgement Day on the 12th of 2012, i dont belive in him, He isnt my prophet, I belive that only God knows the time of Supreme Judgment, and He has said so Himself in my religion, so i have a pretty strong mind as to go against Nostradamus's predictions in every way, and whoever belives that Nostradamus will be right, shouldnt. Theres still time to come to their senses and revive their religious faith instead of listening to Nostradamus, he is a faker, I and along with me probably 6 billion other people on the planet belive so too.

well if you predict more than a 1000 things then for sure you will get one right. and nostradamus is not a prophet he is a historian just that his words can be misinterpreted as such.

I don't believe in any prophecies. He wrote a thousand prophecies but there still some that didn't occur. Maybe its just pure luck, or like playing a jigsaw thinking something and connecting it to others. And 2012? a destruction? they also said that before. Saying 2000 is the end of the millennium but look at today? its 2010. Kind of funny how the internet works and affecting peoples lives

i am not sure if all the predictions were true. that is only the assumptions. the nostadamus wrote the book in a language and there is no clear wordings. what people or the supporter of him does. they just match the incident with some prediction of Nastradamas . I have seen once all the things in discovery and it seems to be true that we just joint or even try to attach any incident with the predictions of Nastradamas.

Like all prophesies people are able to relate them to the event only after it has occurred and not before. No, I do not believe in that kind of prophesy.

yup, i heard about nostradamous, he is very good in prophecies.. i really don't want to believe his prophesies because i don't want to make an end to this world.. i know some of his prophesies is true but this doesn't justify some faqs.. 2012 is fast approaching and i don't want that prophesy to come true which is the destruction... the only thing that i appreciated in his prediction is that he predicted that someone would open his coffin.. ^_^

I don't believe that he can really predict the future. I only believe that the only one that knows our future is God.
