PCOS machines - crazy or cool?

Elections today was really tiring! I find the PCOS machines cool! It is something new to the Philippine society and it makes the counting a lot faster. Ballot switching and other evil tricks of politicians are also lessened. BUT, even though the counting was faster, the whole process was slow since people feel lost and they don't know what to do. It took me 3 hours just to vote. Some machines even failed. The PCOS machines are so strict that even a mark or a crumpled end would lead to the ballot being rejected.

i really really hope elections ran smoothly and the counting will be accurate. let's all pray for the best, for our future. with that being said... hmmm... PCOS machines. supposedly they're cool, but it's driving us Filipinos crazy - with all the attached uncertainty and all. Or is it being deliberately done, you know, the uncertainty of things. ack. no negative thoughts now. just think positive!

I think the negative thoughts will be from the part of the Filipino consciousness where we are afraid of change. We have been so used to the old way of voting that it's hard to think open up to an alternative way. Another factor will be the selfish people out there who have their own motives. Some people deliberately spread fear so that they could serve their own interests. They know that it would be harder to cheat this time around. Especially since the technology is new and thus they would have to think of new and possible ways to cheat.

Yesssss... It took me 6.5 hours to vote. I was very disappointed with the long line. But I blame it on the system that facilitated the clustering and stuff. The PCOS machines were cool indeed. Counting was faster. Voting was faster. But as you've said, there were some people whose votes got rejected because the PCOS machines were very sensitive. But think of it this way, we have know for some months that we would be using such machines. It is part of the responsibilities of a voter to know how to vote properly.

I believe it was cool. I really give my best to vote yesterday. Although it takes me 2 hours to fall in line just to be able to vote. I finished the shading and entering the ballots to the PCOs Machine not exceed 1 minute. I want to experience using that machine since starts from yesterday and for the rest of our election we will be using that Machine. Its amazing that we got to experienced to have an automated election. And later at night we will find out who will be the winning candidates and our new president. Everyone is so happy using it, i feel the environment yesterday, except to those have to fall in line very long because their PCOS Machine got shutdown. PCOS Machine is now part of our history, how cool is that?

In fairness, I find the PCOS machines helpful in this year's elections because of the fast transmission of results. However, like every thing new, there are still glitches in this technology. Some of them bugged down and failed to function for a long time, which took the voting in some precincts too long to be done. I think it's normal and expected because this is just the first time that we've used this technology. Hopefully next time, the glitches will be reduced, or better yet there'll be no more glitches anymore. And also, I hope there will be more PCOS machines next elections so that there won't be too long lines anymore.

Yes, it was really tiring, we have to wait in line for almost 3 hours! But the voting procedure only took around 10-15 minutes, it would've been shorter if the PCOS would read and scan the first time you feed the ballots.

I don't know. This has been my first time to vote and it took me only 15 minutes just to finish all the voting processes. It was fast so I loved it.

PCOS machine can make the counting easier and for the voter's part. But we can't still rely on PCOS machine counting as for me, because we don't know if the flashcard they are using are those with input anomaly. Nowadays, there are people who has a higher knowledge towards IT, they can hacked those votes being counted and sent to the comelec.
