Do you believe in Feng Shui?

Filipinos believe in so many things including the existence of positive and negative energies. In building and decorating houses many Filipinos believe in Feng Shui. The belief originated from the Chinese. Today however, Feng Shui is being practiced in many parts of the world. It is even applied when doing some interior decorating in the western world. In the Philippines, we see a lot of it. I am personally not 100% convinced of Feng Shui but I followed some practices. My thought would be what would it hurt to try it anyway. It all started when I received a free pocket book for Feng Shui which discusses the proper things to do when building and decorating a house. I got a free copy from a book fair in my city. Few months after I got a copy of the book, I started building my house. I read the book from cover to cover and learned a lot from it. I found out that it is not merely a belief but there are some scientific explanations on why you have to do the thing. I asked my parents and elder relatives about it and they added some info that I didn't get from the Feng Shui book. When my house was built I put some gold coins in the foundation of the house. The coins, they said, attracts more money to the people living in the house. I also added some rose petals for love, verse from Psalm and a small rosary for safety. When we transferred to the house, the first thing we brought in was rice and water. We are living in harmony in this house but I don't rely on Feng Shui for the harmonious atmosphere that we have. What is more important is that we believe in God and pray everyday. Do you also believe in Feng Shui? What practices have you done already?

well, i must admit that when we got our new condo i was a bit fixated in feng shui-ing it. my husband reminded me that we are not Chinese and that I shouldn't believe it. However, for me it kinda makes sense especially architecturally and interiors-wise. I was too fixated that I checked and plotted our location to see if it is in like with feng shui. My Mom however told me not to stress because the developer of our condo believes in feng shui and have already incorporated it into the structure of the building and layout of each of the units. maybe now it's just up to me to put the proper things in their proper location. some may find it nonsense, but i kind of believe it makes sense. like in the kitchen. feng shui states that sink area should not be beside the cooking area. i think it it a good "tip" and i should know since i spend a considerable amount of time in our kitchen as i do the cooking in our home.

Feng Shui is all about life's harmony and balance - Yin and Yang. It is nothing new but it is of course all about the elements that is already in our world. Earth/Wood, Wind, Fire, Water. It is the same that to stop fire, you need water, and to keep wood, you have to keep it out of the fire, and to have continuos flow of blessings, water must be abundant. Its just balancing these elements in your own home. This is not like what people may think - its not even close to anything "underground" or "evil" and not even "divination". I do believe in the balance of life, in Fengshui too. we practice that and agrees to most of them. I am a Christian, by the way and I believe in God.

I really do not believe that there are some scientific bases on Feng Shui, I am certain that the scientific community will strongly disagree with this. Well on my rationale I don't believe in Feng Shue. Had this been effective then I think all the problems of humanity will be solved. If putting some gold coins in the foundation could attract money then I think we will end the problems of poverty. I have known a good people living in harmony for a long time without relying or believing in Feng Shue.

My parents used to believe in Feng Shui, they even had a book. And they followed almost everything in the book. They even had the thing with a mirror. But it seems that not one thing they did worked. So it made me not believe it even more. Instead, I just believe in the Living God, that there is only one God and that is Jesus Christ, who gives me blessings. For me, believing in Feng Shui, which is not Christian-like means I don't have a faith in God.

I think believing Feng Shui is a waste of time and money. So obviously I do not believe in it. Work hard, do your best and Trust God and you will gain more blessing everyday.
