Personal information is getting easier and easier to access on the net. Sites like Spokeo can give you names of relatives, addresses, even things like hobbies. It's a perverse intrusion of privacy and with a two-dollar per month membership you can get even more detailed info. It's insane! But what's even more insane is the fact that to protect your privacy from sites like this, costs a great deal more. And there's not really any sure way to know that it's actually working. There is a site called Reputation Defender that claims to be the world's leading online reputation management and privacy company and it charges $10/month. And on top of that, I've heard that it's a scam. Things regarding internet privacy and security need to change.

I have been wondering just how easy it is to locate someone these days. Last week I started a discussion here about an ex boyfriend who left a comment on one of my articles at Associated Content. The puzzling thing is that he should have had no way of knowing my new married surname which is the only one I have on the Internet and we have no friends in common...Strange huh? I live in Australia and I wonder if there is a similar site to Spokeo to search for people; it has me stumped as to how he located me. I agree in regards to your concerns for privacy online.
