Cosigner able to access???

When someone over the age of 18 cosigns for your bank account when youa re under t he age of 18, can they access your account or are they just liable if you dont do proper banking???? I need a cosigner but Im not sure who to trust with all my money over the age of 18. This will help make my decision. I tried to find out online and such for the different banks but it just dosnt say.
