hello lotters just to give you a few examples. * before United Kingdom, the english, scottish and other kingdoms in england were killing each others throats before they start having a nice treaty and becoming United.long history there but they made it. * Before United States, they were just a Colony of England, took Years and Centuries of Struggle, after defeating the british(with the help of the french?), there was a Civil War. then there was this huge financial crisis in the 1920's, all that changed when they fought WWII, and all the other wars. yeah, they have debt, or H.Care problems, but still first world. So as DEVASTATED Germany after WWII, what a mess that was but after 40 yrs. they turned out alright. Same goes with South Korea after WWII, and now we watch they're Soap Opera's same thing with Vietnam, but they're catching up... Just to remind Pinoy Lotters here, these so called Powerful countries went to hell in they're history before they become good. not to mention they still have BORDER Problems. WE DON'T HAVE BORDER PROBLEMS, not much anyways How about the Philippines? we know the story, Spanish Colonization, 300 years being silent after three priest got killed, then Revolution after a Doctor's death, but didn't last long United states betray us, almost 30 years occupation, turned out fine until the Japanese Occupation, then US came back, save us and finally free us on July 4. but first President of the free republic turned it into June 12, instead. things are so well, until we got loosed, marcos tried to control that with martial law, we had it then free through EDSA I. were free it was a bad start.. Today, i think it's still a bad start, we are always in a Hurry aren't we? WE HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO. FIRST WORLD COUNTRIES WENT THROUGH A LOT BEFORE THEY GOT WERE THEY ARE NOW So, don't Lose HOPE. Our time Will Eventually come. Answer, set a side difference, and be UNITED.

i agree that we are always rushing things. the other problem is that we always find the wrong to someone. we like throwing mud to someone that is why we don't progress. we are focused on how to make someone fall instead of finding solutions to our problems. we want immediate change that sometimes we disregard the long term effect of our decisions.

hello mspitot, i can't predict but am afraid most specially now that the new president was voted base on popularity. ibelieve self change is harder to most people, basically when they become practical and succumb to corruption. but for now this is our life, some day things will change but like gordon said, change begins with us

yes, let us change ourselves first and build good communities within our towns and provinces.

wow buddy, that's a hell of a world history. you just reminded us of the great wars and how one country struggle to become one and united. i think korea had also a great history as i have seen it and watched their history in tv and read about them on the net. even before 600+ year, wars had happened in korea. but until this time, they are divided, right? and yes, we still have a long way to go. and the best thing that we can do is cooperate and support the next administration. and just like you've said, BE UNITED.

i agree with you that before these 1st world countries become what they are now, they have gone through so many struggles too. and so we should learn from their history and should not make the same mistakes they had and only copy or imitate the good things. and we don't have to go through same mistakes that they went through but we actually did many times also as a country. we went through so many things. so many hardships in life. financial difficulty and economic problems often times that made life in our country almost like hell at times. but i hope that we become a 1 st world country also and also will have a more peaceful and crime free country soon. as we know that our country has too many crimes in the streets and in many places. people don't feel safe now to go out specially in notorious places. hope there won't be any corner in our country be known for notorious. hope we will be perceived generally as a place to live in. but it will take people to respect more other people. and we as people should learn that and should have that be more part of our culture to respect people .
