Well, i understand that their music is good, but dont you think the filipinos or overacting on it? Making such fan clubs that even outnumbered those fan clubs of our national actors or actresses or even bands and artists. I even got freaked out when a group of students from my class was speaking in korean, i was like "Holy Crap, whats wrong with this girls?!" but seriously, its fine if we study other cultures but wheres our own good old saying that goes "Tangkilikin ang Sariling Atin"? When i even watch a music channel (MYX), i was an avid fan of Daily Top Ten, but now, theres like most songs who are in the rankings are k-pop. what do you think guys?

Hate is not the exact word. I don't hate it but I don't like it. Filipinos are a naturally gifted musicians. There are lots of good music composed by filipinos. I don't really understand about this K-pop invasion, they cannot even understand the lyrics of the song.

oh, sorry for the wrong term XD, but yah, most of them dont even understand the lyrics. And also a funny thing about those fans, when they try to sing their favorite k pop songs, some just sing the chorus LOL, i asked one of my classmate why she only sang the chorus again and again, and she said im not familiar with the verses. LOL, Filipinos are great musicians, some are even world class, go OPM :)

There's nothing wrong with the term :) Some may hate it but for me I just don't like it.. That's the funny thing, they are singing songs which they can't understand.. And I agree with you that Filipinos are world class musicians :)

Ah well... what's new right? From macarena, to F4 songs, to anime/japanese, F4, and now Korean songs. The Filipinos just like anything foreign. Most kids today want to be anything BUT Filipino, and I just hope I am overreacting. Tsk tsk. We really should promote our own and teach the younger generation about loving our own music. Else, we'll kill it.

I guess these groups just want to sell and be famous fast. It is the fad after all. Kpop is slowly becoming more popular due to the burgeoning number of koreans here in the country. As they say, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em! And thus, they imitated. Tsk tsk.

yah, well im cool with filipinos love animes since the time wherein animes were so popular in the philippines, the filipinos still doesnt know or has the skills in making our own animated stories. And i agree with you in promoting our own culture. The worst thing that is happening now is we, the filipinos are imitating this whole K-pop thing, anyone here saw those boy groups and even girl groups who has music videos on our music channel (myx)? I was like "What in the world are they thinking?". Imitating others own type of music?!. tsk

I know what you mean. And I hate how people here in our country try so hard to copy them. What annoys me the most is that even our celebrities try to copy them. Like, there was this time when they dressed like them and even sung some Korean songs, I was so disgusted and pissed at the same time. Cause people look up to these celebrities, and so somehow it sets in to their minds that copying them would be cool.

It doesn't really bother me. They are actually cute. :D I think our local artist should treat his K-Pop invasion as a challenged to push themselves and do something better and more entertaining.
