What do you think about the new Stargate? Don't you think that seems like Battlestar Galactica?

Now that the whole first season is over, I figured I'd throw in my two cents here. This new Stargate series is incredibly frustrating for me. I own all ten seasons of Stargate SG-1 and all five seasons of Stargate Atlantis. SG-1 was great because of the focus on mythology. I was a bit sad that Atlantis lost the element of mythology, but in a way they created their own based on what happened in SG-1. Stargate Universe is just a drama that happens to take place on a space ship. I'm not sure I really consider it Stargate, to be honest.

I have seen all season 1 and I I come to understand it. I recommend you to watch it all if you really are a Stargate fan.

In some respects SGU is similar to Battlestar Galatica yes, but there are some large differences in the storyline as well. The people aboard Destiny aren't so much lost as much as some place they were never meant to be. As the season has progressed the desperation and fear is wearing off and I think there is a good chance by Season 2 any similarities to Battlestar Galactica will be gone.
