Memoirs: Sharing Your Life Through Words

Recently, a woman from my church has given my mom part of a manuscript for her memoirs. She told my mom she wrote it because her grandchildren have been asking her about her life and she got the idea to write down a few tales that she remembers in a book. I know many people-especially celebrities- write memoirs and autobiography to make money and sometimes inspire their fans, but would you ever write a memoir just to share a part of your life with friends and family members, the next generation? What would you like to explain or tell others in a memoir? What would you like to write down for future generations to read? Would you write a memoir for yourself when your memory goes?
