Yes, it's a great movie, I agree.Especially that scene where Maximus returns from the war and finds his family killed.Such a touching and painful scene of a man who lost everything.I think it's one of the best Russell's roles so far.One of the top movies despite those little mistakes with historical details.Good movie.Strong and impressive characters.

Without exaggeration, it is the best Movie in cinema history. It's a Movie that really makes you feel and those moments you live and the way in which actors like Crowe and Phoenix plays these roles. It is by far the best Movie of Crowe and do not think it will be one that surpass it, it's unique!

I totally agree... Russell Crowe really brought the house down on that film.. i have two original sets of the film on VCD and DVD.. I would often watch the film over and over again and explain the events to curious kid who would often ask me about Rome at that time,its educational for him... its totally a film for the whole family. What do you think?
