Another air crash had just occurred. News are streaming in as an Air India plane arriving from Dubai had crashed on landing at Mangalore City, India. News television showed dense black smoke billowing from the aircraft surrounded by flames just outside the Mangalore city airport in a hilly area with thick grass and trees. It is believed that the aircraft overshot the runway, hit a fence and went beyond the boundary wall of the airport. Official report has it that there are about 169 people believed to be on board, and no further news of any survivors so far. This is yet another disaster involving a commercial passenger jet and I am really quite concern with the aviation scene. Let's hope that there will be survivors here. What a weekend!

Hi skysuccess! I saw this on the news and the view was very heart-breaking and devastating. People lost their family members and friends. It was very painful to watch. On the news I have read there were only 8 survivors out of 169.

Hello sky, this is sad, condolences on those lives lost. as for accountability, the engineers, pilot or the guys from the tower should be investigated for accountability. so that the families of the victims will be given justice and compensation for they're lost loved ones.

LetranKnight25, Seems like there are some survivors but nothing official. I am really concern with the current aviation business and I just cannot help wondering if low cost carriers are affecting airlines like Air India as a whole to actually affect them upkeep safety standards. I hope there will be answers here and prevent future disasters.
