It could be uncomplete instalation/unistallation problem. that made your driver files corrupt or replace by older version. I think it's because your graphic driver files. try to reinstall your graphic.

All the recent processors of AMD are free from that heating problem. The first AMD processor I bought had tremendous heating problem.

Hi, The heating problem, especially those that forcefully shuts down your system arise from processor overheat. Usually there is heat conducting coating at the back of each processor. The coating, popularly known as heat glue, conducts processor heat to the heat sink. Then the heat sink is cooled down by the processor fan. Now, overheating may cause either due to wearing away of that glue or due to fan problems. You may check whether the fan RPM is slower than before. You may also try to buy some heat glue and put it on the back of the processor. While putting that paste you should be careful not to leave bubbles in it. The paste should be uniformly put on the surface. In order to have ambient temperature you have to make sure that your heat sink is firmly attached to the processor and is sinking all the heat through that conducting paste. For more information http://technolocus.blogspot.com/2010/05/right-way-to-install-processor.html If you didn't experimented much with your hardware, I would recommend seeing a good hardware expert or sending the motherboard, along with the processor, to the manufacturer. Thanks God bless you

Not sure what your problem is exactly but I used to have the same thing happen to my laptop. My girlfriend bought me fan that sits under the laptop (made by Belkin) and that seemed to help a lot! It plugs into the USB port and doesn't require any installation (just plug it in). Maybe that will help!

Maybe there is an issue with the built in fan in your laptop? Have you considered possibly going to a computer specialist and getting them to take a look at it? You could also build one of those laptop fans that you sit your laptop on, but that would cost you as well, though obviously not as much as buying a whole new computer. If it's only when you watch a video, that's quite strange.
