baseball and spiting

hey, i started watching baseball the other day and i noticed that everyone spits, the players, coaches, even the empires. hell, maybe im not yet in-touch with 'the american game' but i find it kinda disgusting and unhygienic when everyone is spiting everywhere.....i like american sports and the love for the games, especially since its one of the only countries where rival fans can seat together and watch a game without any fighting.in most other countries, rival fans have to be segregated so that no trouble ensues.but the spitting just doesnt do it for me.
