I heard this a long time ago that there are brands of lipstick that can make our lips dark. I rarely use lipstick because we not required to wear make up at work really. I only use one whenever I need to. I just wonder if this was true.

Some study says that long term use of lipstick with higher lead content really cause darkening of lips. This is why I do not use lipstick and read carefully any make up content prior to its use.

I am not sure about this. I have heard people saying that continuous use of lipstick and use of cheap brands of lipstick makes your lips brown. I have been using lipstick once in a week or more in the last 5 year, but my lips are in the same color as before. I have an aunt who uses lipstick almost everyday. I couldn't find a difference.

Just select the brand that does not have chemicals on them. Usually cheap lipsticks that are not well-known to have been tested by experts are more harmful that good. This can make your lips look older and dark. Most lipsticks have aloe vera and some vitamins on them that helps moisturize your lips and even can make your lips plump, not dry. A few dash of lipsticks can make your face appear brighter so put on some and smile.
