i only get to watch my mother cook every now and then. she would ask me to slice some ingredients. i cry everytime i clean and chop the onion. until i was taught how to cook rice. at least some days, i was asked to do this and i like to do it. then i was watching how she fried eggs. i was scared. always scared at that time, because of the boiling oil that "showers" when the egg was laid in it. until i was left alone at home and that was the only thing i know theoretically what to cook for myself. since then, i would always disturb my mom in her cooking. i would ask her that i be the one to put the next ingredient. that i should be the one to stir or mix the food.

I think the first thing I cooked on my own was an Italian chicken chowder. It had chicken, veggies, and pasta cooked in a tomato sauce/broth. It was actually really easy. The first couple of times I had to have the recipe right next to me and I was kind of nervous. After that I started experimenting with the recipe to make it more to my liking and then branched out to other meals. I love that I can make many things now without the recipe right there and without being so scared of ruining the dish!

the first recipe i cooked was spaghetti. that was when i'm high school but it turned out to be one of my embarrassing moment because i washed the noodles. i don't know why i did that maybe i was thinking of canton. I can't forget that though i want to. But at least now, i can cook the best spaghetti.

The first recipe that I tried was sweet and sour fish. I couldn't differentiate the type of flour at that time (not that I am so successful doing that now) so I used tapioca flour instead of corn flour for the sauce. As the result, it look almost like glue (or it really look like glue) But my parents still ate the meal and said it was really delicious, apart from the glue sauce!

My parents are fond of eating vegetables and the first recipe I cooked was an original recipe by my dad and my mom taught me how to make it when I was 10 years old. All I did was sauteed onions and garlic and put some pork in it and then put a little amount of water then the green leafy vegetables I never liked eating. lol
