Best Cardio exercise to loss weight, Jogging or Swimming?

I got back into weight loss, and I was wondering if i should swim or jog for cardio and fat burn, then coupled with pumping weights (more reps to make your body leaner). Well, I chose to go with swimming since, I really hate jogging on the treadmill or in a track. But, some gym buffs prefer jogging on the treadmills instead of swimming. So, I am here to ask you guys who do work out or exercise, what do you guys think would be the ideal cardio exercise to loss weight, Jogging or Swimming? Tell me guys what you think? Any comments or suggestion would be greatly appreciated?

Two are good if you will by systematic . Swimming is less tiring than jogging, but it is more expensive because you must going for swimming pool and jogging you can do every where. And not everybody can swim. when I was loose me weight I was walking fast with trolley . I didn't go to swim because I had baby. But important is eat healthy too not just exercise.

So I will choose swimming if I will had access. But good solution is doing this both . Monday, Wednesday, Friday jogging and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday swimming and of course Sunday rest. In this way you will work different part of your body.

Yeah, luckily I do have free access to both because of a sport club I am a member of. So, I could choose either with no problems. But you are right both would do great. I prefer the less painful path though

Swimming is better than jogging. It is an ideal exercise especially for those who are over weighted. When you are swimming, the water will support most of the weight of your body. If you are an over weighted person and jog, your legs are suffering the load from your body. Some over weighted persons broke their legs. In the less of their life, they have to sit on the wheel chair to move around.

Well thank you for your response! The only problem in swimming is if you do not increase your Basal Metabolic rate and your temperature, you don't really burn that much.

if we talk about which exercise, jogging or swimming, can burn more calorie, i rather go with swimming, a 20-30 straight swim can burn you more calorie, i don't have exact figure how much, but according to fitness experts and based in my experience swimming is best when burning more calorie and it is more fun than jogging (outdoor)..

I do agree with what you are saying. Swimming will burn more calories, but only if done right. I hope I burn calories fast, I really need to lose weight.

Swimming would be my suggestion. Though both of the activity both uses your legs, in swimming, you are still using your arms, back, and it requires more intensive breathing exercises. Swimming might not give you a lot of physical sweat but it gives you more proportioned exercise in all parts of your body.

I think so too that is why I picked swimming. But for calories burned I also heard swimming does a wonderful job in burning calories. It enables you to loss those extra pounds rather quicker.

Actually both are good, its good to take both, like swimming after a morning jog.That's what i normally do. The most importantly is the determination and the passion.

Well before, when I worked out and trained for football (soccer) I used to do 30mins jog on a treadmill, 1hr of weight training and rest for 10mins then jogged again for 30mins. Then, I heard a friend who is a physical therapist, that swimming could even be better for burning calories, since it does increase your wind and have less chances of you getting muscle cramps the day after

If you are over weighted, I suggest you to go for swimming.
