well...facebook is kind of slow in taking care of some important issues. if i was a user, i would value my privacy above all else. i wouldn't want my things floating around the internet without me knowing about it..

no...i don't think that it will. here on myLot, we just have too many people having too much fun to actually do anything nasty like that..

true! it is better to be cautious at all times. ive seen this video that there was this girl who posted her pictures in facebook and i think she didnt care much about the privacy settings, and then this guy was stalking him. and then a crime happened. that was just horrible. i just hope none of those will happen in myLot.

I have no plans of quitting facebook. I used it a lot to communicate with my friens. I even have friends way back when I was 8 years old. I know that there are a lot of other social networking sites but most of my friends are in facebook and not in any other social networking sites. If there something like the facebook but more secured and most people join in it I probably consider to delete my facebook account.

Because I don't beleive that there's any privacy online anyway, I don't plan on quitting facebook, ever.

you also have a point there. coz once a person has started an account in any social networking site, you have to give something like any details to put up an account. same here, i still dont have any plans on quitting facebook.

No, I won't be quitting, but I will be more careful about posting pictures and such, which is something we should all be careful about anyway.

yes exactzly, i do not permit any of my private details or pictures being seen by people i dont have accpeted as friends, and all my friends on facebook are people i actually know in real life too, never enough of safety with such sites...

People get to paranoid when they read the rumors (yes, that's usually all it is) about their privacy being violated. Most of the time they don't realize that they're actually violating their own privacy by throwing mail in the trash. I'm sure they don't read their credit card privacy statement either. The one that says we will give you information to all our affiliates unless you tell us not to.

Why are people making a fuss about privacy setting? We can set our own setting, right?

I think for me, it's the individual's responsibility to keep the private things private, like photos and some personal informations. THings like that should not but put on the internet since we all know that this becomes very accessible to anyone. They should have thought of that before they created accounts on social networking sites like facebook.

I am not worried about the privacy issues with facebook. I only post things that I wouldn't mind if people saw. I let people see my pictures and statements. I don't say anything on facebook that I would not say in person. If I want something to be private, I will not post it, I will call or talk to that person in private. I might email them but even emails have a way of becoming public by accidentally forwarding or responding.
