How did you realise what would make you happy?

My question is about how you figure out what makes you tick and what you're destined to be doing, what will really make you happy. I'm 25 and no clue what I should do career-wise. I've tried a few different things but nothing stuck, neither did college. I guess I either can't think of anything I'm interested in enough, or I'm interested, but only slightly, in too many things. I'm reluctant to go back to university and be done and starting a career by the time I'm 30, although I know it's perfectly normal thing to do. I feel as though until I make some kind of a decision, I will not be happy at all. Those of you fortunate enough to be doing what you love, how did you come about it? Was it trial and error with lots of things that didn't work out? Where you lucky enough to always know? Or did you just go with something that only semi-interested you in the hopes it would grow on you? This is such a puzzle to me I'm interested to see how other people figured their lives out!

Being a parent is what makes me happy! My whole life revolves around my daughter!

That's awesome! I totally love kids (I work with them right now) and I know I will love being a parent some day, just not before I figure everything else out :)

Hi bamamo! I'm afraid these are things you have to find out for yourself. A lot of things are relative. What one's meat is another man's poison. I've learned it the hard way. Trials and errors would be time-consuming and would have been considered the hard way. Talk to as many people and read as many books as possible. You would have noticed how each experiences differ. Even twins will give you different perceptions of the same coin. Finally listen to your heart and you make the final decision. I wanna say "Good luck" in your endeavor!
