Have you seen someone talking alone?

India

I go for 10-15 minute walk every day after lunch on the bridge near to my office. What I saw today that a person was talking too loud (sometimes low) and there was no one around him, I thought maybe he is on the phone and I am not able to see that so walked closely towards him and tried to know if he is using Bluetooth device (I was scared a bit). There was no person or cell or a Bluetooth devices but he was talking about some event. I had never seen anyone talking alone with no living object around. May be he was actor and practicing his lines for some event ? Have you seen something similar?

It's some kind called self-disorder. I even talked to myself when I'm alone. People who take time to think or make decisions sometimes talk to themselves. Just not to loud, someone might hear you and would think you need to go to a mental hospital.

Many friends said its common so we should not worry about it, its just normal like other activities unless someone is really ill but how to know that ? Thanks for the response.

How to know if a person is ill might be a little hard. No problem.

Oh yeah, I have a colleague who does that, lol...I don't find it weird at all cause she explained to me that she really does that sometimes to take away frustration. And I do that sometimes as well...when I'm like thinking out loud.

Talking alone doesn't mean the person is sick or have problem in the brain. But no, I have a friend in work way back in another company who talks alone while doing the regular office work. I gather that instead of working silently alone, she used to talk to whatever she do. While typing something like report or a memo, she used to say the word loudly while typing it. Although I was irritated hearing that at first but in the long run, I learned to accept that mannerism of him. Now I am used to hearing him talking like that. It became soft music to my ear.

I would choose to work silently instead of speaking it, it does disturb others. Thank You for the response.

oh my goodness!! i even talk to myself on a regular basis, studies have shown that talking to yourself is very healthy. if i am about to have a confrontation, i always rehearse what i want to say outloud...sometimes things sound different coming out of our mouth than they did in our head. you should try it....it probably makes you more sane rather than insane!!!

you should try it, of course if there is someone around they will look at you just like you looked at him, but in your own time or in the mirror is perfect!

I'll admit to have done it a time or too. Though I can honestly say I have an excuse. I'm blind, and while being so, sometimes I can get wrapped up in a conversation I don't notice the person I'm talking too had decided to be rude and walk off. So end result, I'm left by myself talking to thin air. I'm not the only person this has happened too. It can happen mainly to blind people, but its possible this person could have been in a simular situation unaware of what's going on, or isn't going on around them.

Hello! I do not understand that there is an unusual and unintelligible? Sometimes I too go through park and talking to myself. Because, I preparing my speech. On fresh air is easier to do it. Better working head and memory. In this world are people who speak with her own then they are alone, because they are sick. It is a disease usually people who do not have home ill with this disease. I do not know that man, and it is hard to judge. Have a nice day!

I talk out loud to myself sometimes. It helps me to learn things and remember things.
• India

Great, if it helps to remember things I should try out. Thanks for the idea.

Haven't seen much but I do talk to myself, i even act out alone but only in private places where nobody else could see. They might think I'm insane if they would see me acting so strange. I do that because it releases an amount of stress in my mind and it makes me more fluent in english, plus I use those when I'm thinking about an idea or stories to make (because I'm a writer). It feels good... and weird somehow.

I have often seen people talking alone to themselves. Sometimes I think they are just thinking out loud. they may not reaalize that anyone else can hear them. I used to work with a woman in the mall that constantly talked to herself. Once when i was younger, I used to see a man walking downtown. He would be singing to himself. We all need someone to talk even if it iss ourselves.

Its not so strange as it seems. In my country this happens often than I would like. When someone has no future and money its normal to go a little bit crazy.

alone - man acting alone
yes, maybe he was just practicing his lines for his act. or just making or getting some attention from others. well, sometimes i also talk to myself but only in my mind. sometimes i also murmur lyrics when i sing by myself when i was walking in the street. it's not bad to do that, right? or sometimes there were also people on the streets like they're not on their ownself. sometimes being a beggar or a street person can make someone crazy. i know there are lots of reasons why sometimes people do talk alone,my friend!

i have seen a few of those walking in the streets. those who are, i think, having mental problems. its just sad that the government doesnt have enough money to put them in a rehabilitation facility. not only those who are having mental problems, but also those children who are strolling around the streets.. :-/
