Are the differences in ones relationship enough to make it going?

In a relationship, they usually say, that the differences that makes the love exciting. That, it is the situation that makes the relationship strong. However, are those enough to keep the relationship going?

Differences don't create the love. Differences surely don't make it boring when people are with each other. But the only real things that can keep a relationship going are trust, offering help to them, having quite some time over for the partner. I don't think my differences from my girlfriend would keep us together. But maybe that just is my opinion.
