Using the cold air from the basement to cool upstairs

I have a finished basement that I spend a lot of time in. In the summer, when I have the AC on in the house the basement gets WAY colder than the upstairs. Sometimes I wish I has fans in the basment ceiling that could pump cool air from the basement to the first floor. I think if I could do that I would save huge on my electric bill in the summer. Anybody feel the same was or have any solutions for keeping my basement from getting so much colder than the upstairs during the summer months?

I doubt whether this plan can work. Cold air is heavier, so you need a pump keep working to pump the cold air upstair. I think it's hard to make this system more efficient than a commercial air conditioner. Probably you'll cost more in your electric bill.

Ya I suppose you're right. Maybe I should just build an entire house underground, like the batcave or something.
