Are you good at tipping ??...Or a stingy one ??

In my country, tipping the waiter is unnecessary thing to do, it depends on the people. Unless if you stay at a hotel, it's a must. But tell you the truth, I'm not too generous when it comes to tipping. When I eat in a fancy restaurant, sometimes I don't leave a tip, mostly because I forgot, but when I did, it's not that much. But a friend told me that it's embarassing to leave a small tip. But I thought it's not about the amount, but it's about how sincere are you on giving it. AM I wrong ??

I always remember to tip. I have a tip calculator on my phone and that helps me out so much. I don't forget to tip becaue i have friends in the industry and i know that they count on having tips because this is how they make most of there money because they might only make 4 dollars an hour and then rely on having tips from good relying customers. I have tipped under the amount it said to tip because i was unhappy with the server at the time. If they arent going to serve you right and make you happy while you are there eating then i don't think they deserve the full amount but always tip them no matter what.

you are right about the service, ive had waiters and waitresses that were terrible and i walked out without leaving a cent. but i still abide with the 20% for decent service.

if you cant tip 20% of the total bill you shouldnt eat out, thats how those people survive.

I know, but fancy restaurant usually charge you with 21 percent of tax. I don't know if it comes with the service or not,but people I know still gives a number of tip, but not 20%, maybe 5%.

In my country, tipping is not encouraged as service charge is already included in the bill so tipping is unnecessary. I've never had the privilege of going to any fancy restaurants so I don't know what the practice is there. But generally, we don't tip and tipping is highly discouraged.

in my country, we dont tip. Neither in hotels or in restaurants. It is very rare that people tip. I even knew that there is tipping in hotels because of movies. We usually leave the remaining coins in the change we receive, that serves as a tip already. but it is very very small.

I have read in an article that if there is no service charge, it is proper to give a tip of 10% of whatever you consumed.
