I love classical music, as well as many other kinds of music. I particularly enjoy sting instrument (violin, viola, cello, bass, double bass) I hope to learn to play cello someday. What kind of classical instruments do you like/play?

That's all you can do. You have what is needed, the Desire to learn. Go For It! And give yourself time to practice Each day. i was in school which meant I had homework and I had to get to bed early and yet I practiced an hour a day , Each day. i took Christmas and New Years off, lol! Best of Luck and let us know how it is going.

You have mentioned there string instruments. I also like playing them. But I find harder to play than playing guitar. I always got stiff neck in playing violin! The instruments I play a lot are guitar, and piano. I like the simplicity of their sound. They almost the same in sound. I like playing them as an accompaniment while I am singing my favorite songs.

I too enjoy the simplistic sounding instruments, but I love the deep rich sound of the cello, it is my favorite instrument

I, too, love classical music. My favorite is the piano. i think i'm too old to learn how to play the piano so i just have to be contented by just hearing it. I love to hear the piano pieces played by Richard Clayderman.

I'm starting to learn how to play the piano myself although this is purely by ear as I don't know how to read sheet music. I bought this electronic keyboard and it seems to do the trick in terms of teaching you how to play different kinds of famous classical pieces. I dig it out daily and I practise for about half hour and it gives me so much pleasure. This is probably the only instrument that I am interested in as regards learning how to play. I also own a small recorder although I've had this since my school days and I rarely play it now. I just love the sound of the piano and it's nice to practise different notes and chords. I hope to improve my ability over the coming months! I vowed to myself that I would learn and master one piece of music before moving on to another piece. Andrew

I also play the piano (or rather keyboard) by ear, and my girlfriend is teaching me to read sheet music. I really enjoy it. Don't give up

A cello is a sting instrument that is much like a violin, the difference is that a cello is bigger, and is played while sitting down with the bottom of the instrument resting on the floor. A cello makes a deeper sound than violins, and I really enjoy the rich music it makes. I also very much enjoy listening to violins, my significant other plays violin.
