Do you go to yard sales?

Do you go to yard sales? Do you have yard sales? Do you stop and look at what you are putting in your yard sale? I watch the antique road show all the time and I have seen things that others has brought from yard sales and some of it would be worth a lot more then they paid for it at a yard sale. So be careful of what you put in your yard sale. I would research what I was putting in a yard sale before I put it in a yard sale!

I like yard sales. I am an artist and I use pictures from old magazines in my paintings. When I find a yard sale I always have to see if there are any old magazines, and sometimes I am lucky. I also like to look at some of the other things that people are selling. My husband also likes yard sales, and we often visit them together. My husband has a wood workshop and he can use most of the things that he finds

Hi Porcospino. Those old magazines can be worth a lot of money. My ex husband through out some really old magazines from the late 50's and 40' till a friend came over and told him he was throwing away some really valuable magazines. Then the numb nut gave them all to that friend. I could have screamed at him. There was some worth a couple of thousand dollars. That is why I like to go to yard sales I have found some real treasures.

i love going to yard/garage sales! You can find all kinds of bargains. I don't have much of value so I don't worry about putting things in a sale that would end up being worth too much!
I love digging around and finding treasures though! i guess in many ways it is true.. one man's junk is another man's treasure!

I go to yard/garage sales when I pass them on the street. Sometimes you can find great treasures at garage sales so I always look at them when I pass one. One time I bought a pair of really pretty Victorian style glass earrings for a dollar. They were so pretty and such a bargain that I was happy all week because of it.

I agree with you that they should check the stuff they put out in their yard sales. However, I think many just do this to clean up their garages and homes and just looking to make a little money. I love going to yard sales and having yard sales. Its great to get rid of stuff that is just laying around. I do think for the most part though that people are aware of what they have is of value or not and not give something away that could have given them alot of money. Research on the computer of items is very easy to do nowadays.

Hi Lelin. You are so right research on the computer is easy. I wonder if people do research what they put in their yard sales. I know I look before I sale anything. Some of the things that I have brought I have gotten a lot more money for then what I had paid for it. But before I buy something that I think will bring more money I will tell the people that are having the yard sale. I don't like being dishonest to others not a good thing I don't want anyone to be dishonest to me. What goes around comes around. I have done this quite a few times and usually they will thank me but still sale the item for what they priced it. So some may be too lazy to do the research.

I use to go to yard/garage sales, but now I'm more in the "get rid" of mode. The last garage sale we had was at my Mom's. We're pretty careful about what we put in the garage sale. We hold some things back and sell them on eBay/Craigslist. I'm pretty sure we haven't give away anything super valuable.

Hi Hofferp. I love going to garage sales. It is always wise to be cautious about what someone is selling or giving away. Good luck on your getting rid of that extra baggage. When I buy something at a yard sale it is usually to sell some where down the line. Or maybe it is a gift I want to give to someone.
