Govenment funding for education

In my country, its really hard to get help with education costs if you are a citizen, but if you have come here from other countries there's loads of government schemes to help. I think this is just crazy because often people come here from other countries just to get free education and then they move back to their own country taking the skills with them that I am paying for with my taxes. Do you think that the government should stop this frivolous spending and instead focus their efforts on other things or even actually spend the money on hard working citizens who need help to further their skills or just to get a job?

Wow, after reading your discussion, I was pretty surprised knowing that your country's government put 'foreign students' on their priority list defeating the local students themselves. All I know about some countries, such as UK and The Netherlands, they definitely put their home students as priority and 'don't give a damn' about foreign students. I completely understand how you must be feeling. You work then pay the tax, you are in your country, but somehow you don't get what you are supposed to get. I know how unfair you must be feeling.

I think the goverment believe this can attrack foreign student stay and work for your country. It's intelligent to do so for a long-term point of view, but it's really unfair to local citizens.

I believe the Government should pay attention to his nation also because it is what counts in the country,to think and do for the benefit of the people. The schemes are just too bad because people who are paying taxes are funding the education of people who are taking advantages only.

I agree that it's wrong for any country to make its own "second-class citizens" in favor of foreigners when it comes to education. Every citizen who contributes to the tax base of a country should see a healthy return and benefit for that contribution, especially in terms of education. And the cost of a good education should not be prohibitive.

Perhaps the goverment believe this can attrack more foreign students stay and work for your country. It may be intelligent to do so on a long-term point of view, but it's really unfair to the local citizens. In my country, the same thing is happening too.
