What do you feel and what do you do after getting bitten by an insect?

Be it an ant, mosquito, bug, or any other insects, if you will get bitten by any of them, what would you feel and what are you going to do? For me, I will get mad and angry with that insect and my tendency is to search and kill it. Hahaha! Would you do the same? Or you just cry? Lol! Another good thing to do after is to give an appropriate medication to the part of your skin that was been bitten. Insects are really annoying sometimes. Lol!

Usually the insect is long gone before I know what has happened. But if it's a flea or a mosquito and I catch it, goodbye flea or mosquito. Those are about the two most worthless creatures on this planet imho.

Hi dawn! Yes most of the time, it's the mark effect of the bite that we will notice and the culprit already escaped. But once we catch them, it's really mean goodbye to them. Lol! I think their worth is they served as snacks of creatures like frog and lizard. :) Thank you for your response.

Mosquito - Mosquito sucking blood
It's very irritating to be bitten by insect such as mosquitoes. The bitten part of the skin becomes swollen and itchy and you keep scratching. This could be bad because of the bacteria in the fingernails and might worsen the damaged skin if we keep on scratching to stop the itch. Usually I will apply some medication oil to ease the itch. But sometimes I was very tired and didn't bother about it. The itch ultimately went off. I hate it when the bite is on part of the body I could not reach such as the back or on the legs which is difficult to scratch.

Hi naka! Yes, it's so irritating because it feels uncomfortable to feel itchy. We have to resist to scratch it since it may just get worsen. The better is to apply an appropriate medicine for it. The feeling of itching is really bad. Thank you for your response.

like you, i go on a killing spree after getting bitten...it's hard to keep those mosquitoes alive, they carry all sorts of diseases with them. normally, i use calamine lotion to relieve the itchiness, when it's not around, i use tea tree oil because it dries up the bite. i try not to get bitten though and for that i use citronella and i load up on vitamin b.

Hi swirly! Yes, as much as possible the insect must be killed. It's good to know that you really know how to cure those insect bites and you also do actions to prevent and avoid them. Thank you for your response.

Well, I've been bit by horseflies, stung by both bees and wasps (or hornets, I can never differentiate beween wasps and hornets... or yellowjackets...) and, of course, eaten alive by mosquitos! My response differs a bit depending on whether it's a bee/wasp or just a little fly/mosquito/ant/etc. If it's a bee/wasp I try to get it off me first thing, then tryo to get as far away from it as possible... maybe come back later armed with a shoe, lol! If it's just a little pest I might try to kill it if there is something to do so handy, otherwise I ignore them. Except for mosquitos. I hate mosquitos. I take great pleasure in hunting down and smashing them! I usually don't treat the bites/stings at all, just try not to scratch!

It's good to know that you have corresponding actions on different types of insects. But the general action is to kill them. Haha! Yes, it's really not advisable to scratch the part of skin that got bitten. Thank you for responding.

Generally speaking, if I've been bitten or stung, I try to get out of the area so I'm not bitten or stung again. I've lived in fire ant country, been chewed by bedbugs, stung by wasps and of course bitten by mosquitoes and fleas. After awhile, personal vengeance is just pointless, though if I do see a single member of one of these species within reach, the bug is doomed. Generally, I use medicated powder to quiet the itch and dry up any ooze coming from the puncture, though if you have dry skin already, some lotion will ease the combined itch from the bite and the already-irritated skin. That's my take on it. What's yours?

Hi blummus! In that kind of place, it's really better to find a safe place after getting bitten especially if there's a lot in that area. That place really needed an appropriate major action. I can imagine how much pain you have suffered by those insect bites, it's really so painful. Yes, once bitten, immediate medication should be applied. Prevention is also important so in those insect prone area, insect repellant lotion is important to have. Thank you for responding.
